they were probably on acid and said "hey...if you say see you auntie really slow, it spells cunt...think about it"

2 weeks later, it was inserted in the liner notes

Hahaha.. here's some fun you can have with all of those closed-minded imbeciles in the world:

Write "see you auntie" on a sheet of paper, show it to some one, and tell them to say it slowly to their best friend...
(Hey, I AM 15 after all... I haven't even finished puberty yet =P)

But really, it is kind of funny when you watch both of the people just look at each other, stupified, and you can just silently laugh to yourself because they DON'T know what they're saying!

FAQ

Yeah the FAQ really helped me out too. I probably would have been trying to figure that out forever.

The FAQ also helped me, but I don't think it was put there for a meaning really. I think they just wanted us to think and find something hidden inside the last line. It was just a test to see if we could discover it.

Oh no, I think you've just opened up another bag of worms...I personally, pronounce "Aunt/ie" as either way - I think that "awn-tee" is proper...but I'm used to say "Ant-ee". So the way I would read "See you auntie!" as "See you 'ant-ee'!". Doesn't really sound right saying "See you 'awn-tee'!"...kinda takes away the whole c-u-N ..effect.

...ANYWAY..

- Cheers, the bringer of basses.

I dunno, but maybe the see you auntie has some connection with jimmy. considering they are both undercase while the rest is upper. And that would explain the femine side of jimmy. It could have something to do with a love one, did maynard or any of the group members lose an aunt? Or could it have something to do with the Anima theme of the album? Perhaps....Just a thought!

See you on tea.

My interpretation of See you auntie was that you said it just like it sounds, and it comes out "See you on Tea" which would mean see you when I smoke a fattie, tea meaning Mary Jane. My only problem with my interpretation is that tea is a really old school term for weed. Maybe the tea is a reference to snobby British fucks.

See = C
You = U
Aun = N
Tie = T

C+U+N+T= CUNT

Hope that clears everything up.

I think the pronounciation of words depends on your region, dialect, and all that good stuff ...or... some people may just be raised to say words differently than us.

I see where you all are coming from with the whole CUNT thing. But when I first thought about it I thought it was
C - U - "and" - T spelling "CUT"
Maybe its because I'm from down south and pronounce it more like "see you antie" but that's what it sounds like to me.
Refering to the picture of the x-ray guy with scapel cutting open his third eye in the linear notes. It makes more sense with the cd as a whole than "cunt".

C-U-N-T

For the last time people, how can it mean cunt? Kindergardeners can sound out the sentence, and see that it is a stretch to say in the least. "SEE YOU AUNTIE." Whether you say it ON-TEE or AN-TEE, neither the ON nor the AN sound like the letter N. See=C you=U ON,AN does not fucking =N. It doesn't even sound like N. And if that is the meaning behind why Tool put in their cd liner, then I would have to say I am disappointed with their english skills.

Majority decision makes right. I like it!
Kinda like all those people out there that think Tool is just some depressing, violent metal band. Maybe they're right. I mean, all those people with their opinions, they can't all be wrong. Can they?

thats completely different, people who dont liek tool, or any band for that matter, are expressing their taste in music, which is much different than, say: a few detectives pooling their minds and resources to figure out a crime. that is what we have here, a buch of people try and solve a mystery, almost all of them come to the same conclusion. therefore they have the best educated guess and are more than likely to be correct.
