How can I distinguish the 92 original from the 98 reissue?

Hi guys.

I just bought an original 92 Opiate copy on eBay, but... I don't know what the differences are with reissue. Could someone tell me, so I can check if it isn't a fraud. Thanks.

Re: How can I distinguish the 92 original from the 98 reissue?

i didn't even know there were any differences at all. probably something stupid with minor changes in artwork color (like NIN re-releases) or it just says a different label (i have the 96 version of Ænima and one i bought last week, one says Zoo and the other Volcano, or whatever).

out of curiosity, how much did you pay?

10 Euros, roughly 10 Dollars (considering the higher new CD prices in Europe)

Well... nobody cares I guess but it arrived.

There are quite a few differences, Every Disection Logo is replaced by a ZOO logo, the fonts are different, and the booklet is printed upside down, I mean that if you look at one side, then flip over, the image will be upside down compared to the newer version.

If someone here wants to see it I'll post comparison pics.

Re: How can I distinguish the 92 original from the 98 reissue?

well, if you're adamant about collecting EVERY version, then yes. you'll want to have the old and the new versions of all the albums. but seriously, color and logo differences, it's not a big deal. i love Ænima but i'm not excited to have both versions of it.

now, Undertow has two edited versions--those are different, and worth collecting. but IMO it's not really a big deal to get the "different colors" versions of these albums. i'm not really pissed that i don't have the misprinted/red tape Salival first print, i'm just glad i own it.

Yeah you're right, in your previous post I thought you were referring to Opiate not being a big deal and your Aenima being a big deal, sorry!

Sorry I didn't catch this earlier, but it seems like you were asking me so I'll reply anyway, better late than never...

Have you ever been to Costco and checked out their CD section? They have most of the CDs in these double length boxes. Back in the day, Opiate was released on one of those.

I wish I had saved the picture, it was pretty neat looking.
