I think the Paramount website says the lounge opens like an hour or an hour and a half prior to the show. That's probably where I'll be... heh.
Sounds cool...I guess I'll be sitting next to you. I'm in Mezzanine 3, Row Z, Aisle 35, Seat 10. I checked out the view from the seat last night, and it's really not that bad.
The Paramount Bar gets a little crowded and feels kinda cave like. I would suggest Six Arms just three blocks east on Pike St. They usually have one or two Tool cds in the juke box. Micros, full bar, cheap food. My usually pre Paramount watering hole. See you guys at the show.

Hi all, I am lucky enough to be going to this show. I saw Tool the last time they played at the Paramount for the Lateralus mini-tour.
It was amazing to say the least.
They may not have had trapeeze artists like they did at the Tacom dome (which was badass). But the sound and seating made the show 1000% more enjoyable.
I am glad I get to hear new Tool music straight from Tool the first time I get to hear it.
Though, I have heard Vicarious on the radio.
Does anyone here have the "ToolArmy" seats for this show in Seattle.
I am lucky enough to have them for the Toronto show, and would just like to ask around about obtaining more information about the whole process (of picking up the tickets) as the show time nears.
All I have got was a confirmation e-mail from Graves saying that two tickets will be waiting for me at the box office on the night of the show, but asking around , the venue and the promoter have no clue what I am talking about.
Thanks for your time...and help.

back on the ta page is a note from blair mentioning that you need to reply back to the email as confirmation and then you can get the rest of the story......if you fail to, they'll give the seats away to some other ta member

I did so, and the rest of the story was to just show up to the venue. I guess I was looking for a little more than that for confirmation. I will just have to trust them then. Thanks.

i'll try and make it to Six Arms too. i'm hoping to get off work early enough to get semi-wasted for the show. though sober sounds just as appealing. play it by ear i guess.
i went and saw Massive Attack last night at the Paramount. they were really mellow (compared to tool), but i was excited i got to see the venue. it's beautiful, and yes the sound is amazing, even up at the top mez.
oh, and the theatre has bars on several floors. i think a flask would be a good idea though.

Flask... excellent idea. Do they search you good before shows for things like flasks, cameras, etc.?
They do search because Tool is paranoid about cameras and recording devices and such. They will sometimes check cigarette boxes too. If you have Scooby Snacks, I would suggest the shoe; I have never seen them check out people's shoes. Flasks might be difficult, but you never know.

yeah, and how hard is it to get away with blastin a scoobie there? are the bouncers all over you at the first smell of the green?
Seattle is a no smoking city now so you have to be careful with the green because there is no cig smoke to hid it in. Due to the seats, it is difficult to hide in the crowd. Don't worry about it, but be discreet.

I'll admit to being a Tool fan AND somewhat of a stoner. But I doubt I'll have the chance to find any chronic before the show. I just don't know how you do it in the states!
Thats the one thing i hated at my first Tool concert. Tool fans are stoners!!
Not me, but I think people should be able to enjoy a show in any form they wish...as long as it is not harming anyone. I got lucky once at a Tool mini tour in the Paramount because the guy sitting in front of me had a full blown acid or mushrooms freakout during King Crimson and had to leave. I got his seat. It was in the front row. Thank you Mr. Hoffman.

Thats a pretty great story... Hey how bad is downtown Seattle? Im traveling alone, and just want to know the areas i should avoid.
Downtown is fine. The only place to avoid is Pike St. between 1st and 4th Ave. at night. It is not super dangerous, just kinda sketchy. Everything else is fine. For a city, it is pretty safe.

pretty harmless as long as you dont look vulnerable and scared and alone. Alone is ok, just dont ask for trouble. Seattle is a pretty safe city, but none the less, it is a city and there are some bad folks around, but for the most part if you leave them alone they leave you alone.
if any of you loud drunk fuckers ruin the show for me i will tie your penis in a knot.
needless to say, tool shows are high-security. they pat you down at the door, at small venues they run metal detectors. flask, unless it's plastic, will alert them. as for cameras, i got a disposable one and stuck it in my shoe and just hobbled in. didn't set the metal detector off. in the smaller venues it's best not to try and get your smoke on, since you're not in a pit or anything they know right where to find you when they get a complaint. and trust me, people will complain. if you have to smoke, do it in your car before you head in. and make sure you invite me for a sesh.

Well, I'm not going to be drunk because I'm not a fucking idiot... but I feel like celebrating beforehand with a few drinks, so no, I'm not going to be the "drunk fucker" who prompts you to grab my penis.

I prefer to intake through ingestion, combustion, or vaporization, the green herb cannabis, sub-species sativa, or sometimes indica. mmmmmmm, free goo.

oh snap!!! ur in the wheelchair section? are those good seats or crap?
There are many wheelchair seats.... The ones i got are off to the side a bit, but they are elevated apparently. So we shall see. Buddy says anything in the first half of the floor seats are good.

I have sat right next to those wheelchair seats before and they look pretty damn good. People standing should not be an issue because they are elevated.
