Omg! okay this is definately a rumor, I just had a revelation. The band had always said that they wanted to do an album with a movie. Lets see the similarities, Aemima(him) was released at the same as lost highway and Lateralus was released at the same day as Mullhuland drive* and now Inland Empire is being realesed on the same day a ?
The themes of Synchronicity
if anyone is familiar with what I have been talking about, please input, I am going to, this is crack pot but its too weird
*not the same day
Lynch described the film as "a mystery about a woman in trouble." In another interview he had this to say about the film making process, "I’ve never worked on a project in this way before. I don’t know exactly how this thing will finally unfold... This film is very different because I don’t have a script. I write the thing scene by scene and much of it is shot and I don’t have much of a clue where it will end. It’s a risk, but I have this feeling that because all things are unified, this idea over here in that room will somehow relate to that idea over there in the pink room."[2]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inland_Empire_(film

fight club synchs up pretty well to lateralus. The begining part with the grudge is most impressive however.

I met david lynch. He did this cultish lecture at my school about transcendental meditation with the help of some doctor from the movie "what the bleep do we know". anyway, the lecture sucked, but i went backstage and some guy let me in and i got to watch it from the side. then later i asked david lynch if he wanted to go get some food. he said he was too busy. that dick

yeah, the atmosphere totally set the scene up. i was so into the movie, it was really dark and quiet at my house, and the volume was up pretty loud
not nearly as scary as the first time i saw robert blake in lost highway. i don't know why, but it disturbed me quite a bit.

Speaking of synchronocity: ever notice a Tool release at the same time as a "Weird Al" Yankovic release? Hmm? Did you know they both worked as artists for Volcano Records? Do I HAVE TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU?
Weird Al Yankovic = Maynard James Keenan
Period.

Pink Floyd and synchronicty:
(Meddle) 2001: A space odyssey
(Dark side of the moon) Wizard of oz
(Wish you were hear) It's a wonderful life
Coincidence?
I think not!!
Its highly and 100% possible for Pink Floyd to have created a "secret soundtrack".
They even stated they wanted to make a soundtrack for stanley kubrick. Kurbrick offererd it to the band, PF declined it. And what did they do? They made it anyways. Did they say anything about it? naw. But they did it with the intent. Anyone one who has done the syncing will know for sure. As for TOOL, it would not surprise me if they ever plan to do it. I see it as completly possible. I would love to see them do it to!
