Yea. See what I don't understand is why some people refuse to grow with Tool. They are dynamic, learning band that has invited you to follow them through their artistic development. They never told you they were going to keep playing 'rock-n-rage'. They said, we will grow as human beings, and as this growth continues we will make music that reflects this growth. Listen to each new Tool album as an installment in the intellectual and artistic development of four people. Each installment tells a different story in a different way, and no installment should be like the other (if it is then they arnt growing and maturing are they?)
I know of no other band (except for an iffy Radiohead) that produces music in this fashion. Thats why I like Tool. Not because they have a 'set' sound that I enjoy, but because they have no set sound and I don't know where they are going to take me next.

"lets push things forward"
give it a few more listens. if you don't like it, then delete it from your harddrive and don't post about it. There's nothing to be ashamed of if you don't get it, don't like it, or are indifferent... sometimes people just don't click with music. Shit happens--but don't diminish our experience with your negativity--thats all we're saying.
In a way, you should be thankful that you don't like this album... the only thing that really counts is if it causes you to think or act or somehow inspires you to do something important... in this case, it might be inspiration to listen to something else--or to quit posting on a web forum and slating a band who plays music.

Anytime a highly anticipated release passes and even if it is a Classic like 10,000 Days you are going to feel withdrawl because the wait and such is all over.
You really love the album. You just want More.

Someone mentioned that "the wait is over"
I have been waiting for new Tool music for years now (as has everyone else).
The only 'negative' of this whole new album is that it will probably be another 4-5 years before their next great album... that kinda makes me sad!
But who cares??
I like this new stuff!
It will keep me going for quite some time...

But all that's invalidated by the original poster's point that the new album reuses older material.

At people not liking the album? Somehow...I don't think they give a damn. It's the #1 album on Amazon right now and it hasn't even been released. I'm willing to bet they don't need validation from nameless kids on the internet complaining how bad the new album is.

no, no .. at the fact that it leaked. I'm sure they don't give a damn whether or not we like the album.
