Yay! I've been waiting for you to post something in letters. You didn't let me down either. I enjoyed this last part the most. The whole thing is pretty good. I'd try to avoid Tool terms like Undertow(Tool terms) unless it is something you would have come up with if it wasn't a Tool song/album.
The use of the word undertow fit wonderfully, but many people who don't see that all Tool uses are 3 strings of notes played in conjunction and the English language sung think that they have claim to the words like undertow, schism, eulogy. These words are a part of the language, and the reason Tool probably chose to use them is that they are wonderfully descriptive words.
I do not mean to offend anyone, I am just pointing out that it is a word, nothing more. Now a phrase like "I know the pieces fit" would be plagarism, although it is fun to string random lyrics that have been bouncing in your head together, it is plagarism, and shouldn't really be shared with the outside world unless the writer is looking to get some nasty feedback.

Great work Alex!
I really liked the end, a great finishing touch adding the little extra that makes a big difference. I feel there's a thread of darkness running through the whole thing. The last whole sentence

gave me a bit of a mind job. Finding it where there are no answers... Maybe I'm a bit slow, but it got me thinking.
I really wonder why it is titled #1... Is it just cause it is your first contribution to "letters," or is it meant to be seen in context with the rest?
I gotta agree with deadwolf, undertow is not a "Tool-term," even though a song and an album is called that. It is a word.
