I always park in the giant lot on the other side of the Lakeshore directly across from the venue. It's not the cheapest, but it's very close, and we've never had a problem tailgating there. For the NIN show a couple months ago there were a few cars around us drinking and smoking and noone was bothered.
I think you'll love the venue, it's one of my favorites. The sound is a little weak on the bass but everything sounds crystal clear for a larger venue. I've seen many many shows there over the years, and section 202 is amazing. I'm in 302, very stoked.

This is right across the street? Isn't the traffic really heavy there to cross (freeway)? Last time in the Ont.Place parking we had security all over checking for booze, was a pain! I'd much rather park elsewhere but something within a short walk would be cool.... is there a name of the entrance for this lot you are referring too?
Places you can park for free (and probably tailgate hassle free)
the parking lot at the Metro in Liberty Village.
directions between the parking lot and molson. advantage = there is pretty nice, big english style pub/bar in liberty village. it's a popular drinking spot after ampitheatre concerts

There's a walkway overpass that goes from the parking lot straight out in front of the will call window, so you don't deal with traffic at all. And i didn't see security at all, I think because it's on the other side of the lakeshore
Holy Crap!!
I was on the fence about going to the TO show (I live in Ottawa and am already going to the Kingston show - GA) but I just checked ticketmaster on a whim and got a ticket in section 202 row J!! So I guess my one night adventure just turned into a full on roadtrip!! Unfortunately, my friends don't all share Toolvision so I will be going alone...it would be cool to tailgate with some like minded people before either show so if you notice a 2005 Mustang GT, silver with blue LeMans stripes, please stop by and say hello.
I'd also appreciate recommendations on where to stay in TO, i.e. cheap hotel near Ontario Place.
For the record, I've been here for a while (Kevindust since 2002) but can't remember my password and no longer use the email addy that I signed up wiith so I had to create a new account.
Going to be staying at the Gladstone hotel. Don't want to drive. I know Toronto is a pretty safe city. Anybody think walking the 2.5km would be unwise?

dude you'll be fine.
caribana will be over so the city should be almost cleared out of tourists.
transit is a much better option.
take the spadina streetcar south to the queens quay then take the streetcar to the ex going west.
it'll cost you 2.75 each way and will save your legs.
remember. get a transfer at the first streetcar so you don't pay again.
this advice goes for all. take the westbound streetcar on the lake shore going west.
just follow the tool fans.
haha, i just looked for tickets for curiosity's sake and my security code was "females pummeled". thats not very PC of ticketmaster.

Only unwise because it's a good trek - your safety will not be an issue.
Had a pair of 400's I sold for $10 less than face. My sister won a pair of 400's and sold those for face. I just found a guy on CL with a pair of 202 row D and he's asking $200. Everything is coming up Millhouse! For those looking, the prices on CL have dropped dramatically. One asshole was asking me for $300 for a pair of pits. Hope he slips in a puddle of AIDS and dies. I feel bad for those who bought from scalpers right after the Ticketbastard sale. Surprised so many tix still out there for sale from 3rd parties. Die, scalpers. Die.
Day is here, can't friggin wait! Read some reviews on last nights show in Kingston, seemed like it rocked! Hope the momentum carries over to the Ampitheatre!
Where's the pre-party? Looks like I'll be leaving around 3pm, be there for 5 or so, gates open at 6:00pm.... probably be drinking somewhere in one of the lots, probably the one across the street seems the best... I know last time I went to the Amp to see TOOL they had security walking around the parking lot checking for booze, etc., so forget that... anyone with tailgating plans let us know! I don't feel like going inside too early to drink at one of the patio's there, damn rip off..... plus cranking TOOL and partyin with other tooshed fans outside is the best!
I originally had tix to this show and Kingston, glad I sold my Toronto tickets. It'll be the same setlist I'm sure, same one I saw in Toronto, Montreal, Vegas, Hamilton, and now Kingston.
Enjoy everyone, for those of you who've never seen them you're in for a treat
G'Day everyone (haven't been on here in eons)
Some names I recognize, some I don't
Enjoy the shooooow ... C-ya there!

dude, tickets ALWAYS sell on CL and kijiji around the date of a concert, for face value. People who pay crazy scalper prices right after the show sells out are desperate, if you have patience you can always get tickets for face from other face the day of the show.
or, another reason might be a buddy backs out at the last minute and instead of wasting a ticket, lists it on CL.
either way...
No question - that's how I got my pair. I refer specifically to the people who were posting there a month ago, the same ads, with tickets going for three times what they're asking now. To them I say "I hope you choke on it".
Saw the show in Kingston last night. Take note of the body language between MJK and Adam. I saw a few things last night and wonder if it's just my hippy haze.
Anyone going to have a joint in the lawns by any chance? I think I would like to partake.
i'm hoping to light up in the pit/floor area myself, anyone know how easy it's going to be? only time I been to molson amp I had lawns so don't know what the floor will be like
I heard security was pretty tight last nite at the Kingston show

I had pit tix for the last show at the Amp and saw at least 3 people get the boot for smoking (too far away to tell if it was weed or smokes). I smoked and toked in the pit and had no issues myself, but I'm sly like that. Except...
I was at the Rush show last fall and had major grief with a bouncer for smoking a joint in the 200's. He grabbed me outta nowhere and I've got lungs full and a burner in my hand and as he's escorting me out I'm one step beind him toking like a fiend. I ditch the roach and exhale before he stops and demands to know what I'm smoking. "I'm not smoking" I insist. It goes back and forth (he had "multiple complaints" from "families" about me smoking bud) and I'm adamant he's wrong. I deny everything and end up getting back to my seat. Then Rush breaks out "Train to Bangkok" and the whole time I'm digging it I'm wondering which assclowns behind me didn't realize they were going to a fucking rock show. Leave the kids at home or get over it, dicks.
