I went to my step-bros' place yesterday and there was a sheet of paper with CRAZY written all over it in different typestyles, and a square torn out of the corner. Some of them were even misspelled. I ask one of my bros "What is this?" He says, "oh Ryan(other bro) said he is looking to get 'crazy' tatooed on him in some abstract way." They were all written this chick he's been hanging out with. I said, "Abstract??, those are just different typestyles, that shit isn't abstract" I am going to laugh soo fucking hard when I see hes got KRAYZEE tatooed on him in goofy girl handwriting. He will regret that.
Tool related tats are pretty cool I 'EM 'OH. The art they use is cool and unique to them. I was thinking about a Flower of Life tatoo, but now i feel it would need to be too large. There are many great symbols and ideas drawn from tool lore to get inked on yourself, more so than many other bands. Lately I've been thinking about getting a heartbeat inspired from Floyd's Dark side of the Moon, encircled with some rainbow of color underneath it. But I don't really care to have people calling me a queer for the rainbow of colors. I feel the best thing to do before getting a tatoo is to really think it over.

For those out there who are hating on people for getting Tool inspired tattoos, shame on you. Tattoos are whatever you want them to be, how do you know that a tool inspired tatto doesnt have a deeper meaning than just being a tool fan, i know mine does. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...2/DSC_0244.jpg

That's really pretty. Loving it.
If you want lettering, then just do it. I don't think it makes it feminine or what not. Unless maybe you have it around your navel or something. I've kinda always liked the idea of getting lettering instead of a symbol or pic. I've thought about getting something on the inside of my wrist just as a reminder to myself everyday. Unfortunately, I work as a nurse, and I think my employer may frown upon that just a little.

It looks awesome. How long did it take to make the tat?
Is it too feminine of a tattoo?
I'm a very masculine person and having fem-bot slogans on my body would (later on) affect my own thoughts on them.
hmm...never thought of it b4. Well, the question is...how secure are you with your masculinity?? Even if it may seem more feminine, i think it takes a REAL man to embrace female traits...etc.

My own opinion, i dont want to alter my body to anything other than how i was born im fine with it i dont need tattoos or piercings and what not, thats just my opinion.
I got this tat about 5 days ago so it's still kind of scabby. Keep in mind this is just the base! My guy didn't have the time to begin and finish the color. It's certainly Alex Grey/Tool inspired. Obviously, it's of an eye made out of smaller eyes.
Let me know what you think. I made the picture a little blurry on purpose but the quality is still good enough to get the point across. The middle section is the flower of life. After I sketched that down I expanded the pattern from it, then made copies of the base design and shaded it prob. 30 different ways before I got it the way I wanted it. This is tool inspired in the fact that I was introduced to the finer points of sacred geometry by their music.

I am thinking about getting the "angels and demon" image in the Ænima booklet. Not sure where I wanna get it, maybe on my back, but i wanna do it soon.

"No, I pretty much got it figured out."
I'm probably going to get a Tool inspired tat aswell, but I'm not going to use any of the artwork. I need more time to get into the whole sacred geometry thing, because the tat needs to be perfect.
A combination of the flower of life pathern, with a spiral galaxy maybe?
I got this back in '96 on a friends couch. I took the design from an old opiate toor poster, the sculpture on the cover of undertow and the eye from aenima
Band tattoos are lame if you get the bands name, but using a band or artwork inspired by a band to form your own personal tattoo I don't think is lame >_>
See the problem with people like you in this world is that your opinion is always right, you have no facts or proof to back up your opinion but you're so convinced in your one way thinking brain that it's right. You can't tell other people what is and what isn't. Stop living your life as such an angry egotistical person and enjoy it. You take the time to listen to Tool and post on a forum about them yet you don't put forward anything they believe in.

Reason: typo
I was thinking of getting words inked on me somewhere. Not artwork though.
"Embrace the moment", or something like that. I need to constantly remind myself to do said action.
I was thinking of something along those lines, although mine would be "Be Here Now," which would be a reminder to remain in the present moment instead of letting my thoughts rule my existence.
