I don't really know what particular genre of electronic music he'd fall under...I'm thinking if you enjoy electronic and/or hip hop, that would be the tent to be at Friday night

Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival

I've only been one other year ('05), but 8 hours seems ridiculous. I'd say 4 or 5 hours at the most (and that's including the wait in the line, driving to your parking spot, and unpacking). It really just depends what time you get there. Thursday afternoon seems to be when most people arrive. I got to the gates around 2 AM Friday morning in 2005, and it probably took around an hour (maybe less) to go through the line and set-up camp. We'll be arriving a bit earlier this year, around 10 PM on Thursday night.

w00t for VIP! :) It'll be less than an hour between when I check in at the super-secret VIP rendezvous point and when I set up my tent.
Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
Yeah, seems like the best bet is to get there Thursday night since most people show up during the afternoon. I'm not really interested in anyone playing on Thursday except for Tea Leaf Green, who don't even play until midnight.
Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
right on, thanks for your guys' input, were leaving here around noon on thursday and it takes roughly 6.5 hours so we'll see. same goes for me, i dont really care about anyone playing on thursday, just as long as im there by 9:00 friday night!

Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
I'll be at the show, be my 11th time seeing them. Suprisingly after 10 shows this will be the first time I seen them not sober. But I'm ready for whatever it brings. Figured it's Bonnaroo, so it's my exception to seeing them in a non sober enviorment. If anyone wants to meet up that'd be cool, email me or something or look for me on myspace (pigweiser) and send me a message.
As for the setlist I would not be shocked if they busted out No Quarter for the fest. It's been many moons ago since I last heard it, but they very well could play that. Aloso perhaps Reflection we could here. We'll see, regardless it'll kick ass. Oh and Aesop Rock and String Cheese after is gonna kick ass, same with STS9.
***One last little tidbit and I think it can and will happen. If any of you followed Mr. Show you know that Maynard and Adam both were involved with it. As you can see Mr. David Cross is playing before and after Tool that night. Do not be suprised if some individuals make a suprise appearence. Not saying it will happen, but when the inital lineup was announced and Tool and Cross were both on it, knew as much. That's all I will say for now.

Weren't Tom Morello and Adam Jones in a band together in high school or something? I was hoping we would get lucky and see Tom Morello on stage for a song or two.. That would be amazing.
Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
... 10 days 'til Bonnaroo. I'm trying to get Kabir to come to Tennessee for the weekend, but he won't commit ... yet.
Anyone interested in a meet-up? I'll already meet up with Novus and insaner throughout the weekend (we've been friends for the better part of a decade and have all seen Tool and APC together many times).
Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
I can't wait, this show should be spectacular!
Anyone else volunteering with Clean Vibes for the after show cleanup?
This is my first 'roo and I'm going solo. My friend that was supposed to go backed out but there was no way I'm missing Bonnaroo this year. I'm going to make the trek and set my stuff up in Tent Only.
I plan on arriving for the Roots and then making my way closer for when Tool comes on. I'm pretty sure my face is going to melt off during the show....but it will be glorious!

I am doing the same thing. I want to be front fucking row if I can do it.. Anyone wanna make a group so we can use the bathroom etc and not lose our spots?
Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
I'd be interested in some sort of meet-up before Tool's set. I plan on arriving and watching the Roots and staking out a decent spot for Tool. I don't really want to make the effort for first row or anything, but I'd like to have a decent spot.
If anyone wants to meet up before or after the Roots, let me know. It'd be nice to have a group in case someone needs to go to the bathroom, we don't lose our spots.
Re: 2007/06/15 - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival
SUPERJAM ANNOUNCED.
Bonnaroo continues an annual tradition with an all-star SuperJam, starting at midnight on Friday, June 15. Former Led Zeppelin bass player JOHN PAUL JONES will anchor a trio featuring one of music's most innovative modern bluesmen, guitar wizard BEN HARPER, and Roots drummer AHMIR "?UESTLOVE" THOMPSON. The SuperJam is one of the most highly anticipated features of the festival, combining the talents of a diverse set of musicians for a one-time-only collaborative performance. Past participants have included Stewart Copeland, Herbie Hancock, Dr. John, Trey Anastasio, and many other musicians of the highest caliber - and if history is any indication, expect special guests to join the fun.
I'm going to leave Tool's set, get some food, get something to drink, and go see JOHN PAUL JONES at the SuperJam. Here's hoping that Tool sticks around and sits in on this one.
