If its lossless (FLAC) try TheTradersDen.org.

If its mp3, I'd suggest SUMOtorrent.com. Since Demonoid.com is down.

For the forums, MegaUpload.com or Sendspace.com would be great..

Awesome job you guys for recording the show!

So anyway last night I bought a 38 dollar shirt....AGAIN.... I had to...They had some new designs and say 2007 Fall Tour :)
This was my story until this tour... mwahahhahaha I finally beat you! you fucks!!! Wait, I bought a 20$ poster... does that count as a win for them? fuck it. The new shirts are good looking but in hindsight, they aren't as good looking as the other tool tour shirts from recent tours (alex grey art), imo. The new shows though, now there is something that definitely HAS improved.

Even though the setlist has not changed this mini tour I STRONGLY believe that they will play at least ONE song different for the vegas shows. My guess is they will play the set they are playing now for the first night then switch out flood for pushit or right in two. If you look at the past when they have done back to back shows in the same place they always switch something up even if it is only one song. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention IT IS WELL WORTH IT!!!!

Agreed. Saw it in Chicago this Summer along with "The Pot". Great show but would have been 100 times better if they closed with "Ænema", "Vicarious" blows as a closer.

End of touring?

I want to hear yall's thoughts on what u think tool will do after this tour. I dont expect to hear that they are thru. I really hope that they will go into working on art, side projects, taking it easy and just generally enjoying what they have created. Of course i could want for them to make another album or 30, but we have to face it, they are not as young as they used to be, and with the length of the hiatus' they take between tours and albums, i dont expect them to go on for very many more years. I personally would really love to see them come out in a few years with an extensive live dvd/cd or even better, how great would it be for them to start another tour later on down the road where they weren't touring for a certain album and just played what they wanted to. A tour where they experiment with songs, play older gems (i.e. undertow, third eye, pushit, jimmy, dis/ref/tri) and just generally have fun. To be able to see all the songs i have missed live and for them to recreate all the magik of the former tours where it was the norm to open with a 15 minute long song and play with no real time constraints or album obligations would be really wonderful. I am just wistful thinking and blathering on, but this would be really cool. Tell me what yall think.

Last time the did 2 nights at the Pearl I think they threw in Swamp Song the second night, but it was pretty much the same. Good, but same.

We'll they're under contract for 1 more album, chances are they'll probably do one more and have a short tour if they even do a tour. We will see another album though. Hopefully.

Well, in a perfect world...

... In a perfect world, Bill Hicks would still be alive and could open for Tool on this current leg (wouldn't that be incredible).

Sorry, not trying to be a cynical ass or anything. I actually thought "TheDude420"'s post was cool.

We'll just have to wait and see. I kinda like not knowing what to expect; keeps things interesting. This current tour was sure a nice surprise.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

timespacex,

I share your frustration! I was at the SLC show last night...it was the best show I've seen since 2002, and this was my 3rd 10,000 day tour show. My 8th show overall (yes, I was there when they recorded B-side pushit for salival!). All of them were really into it, especially MJK. I will post more on the thread as soon as it is up. Same set list BTW; FLOOD was worth every penny.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

Ive made three 10000 days concerts since may of this year and have really enjoyed myself and the band especially. In may in southaven Mississippi which is about 30 miles from memphis i got to see right in two and Aenima, and a very lively maynard during stinkfist which was really cool, In baton rouge in June i got pushit, then on 11/17 in New Orleans i saw flood. All of the other sets' songs were the same but i really enjoyed them and appreciate them honing these songs to a fine art and getting the basics of the songs down-pat, then with that guild mastered, being able to deviate from the original song and add the amazing extra jams, extended versions, added screams and stuff like that. The 11/17 show was more than likely my last show for years and reflecting upon what i saw, i am VERY pleased. Thanks guys.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

Since we can't discuss the SLC show in the SLC thread, I'll just chime in and say that it was a great show. It was my fifth time seeing them, and I'm glad they came through "Salt...Lake...City..." again, as I was a bit unimpressed with the August 29, 2006 show. Wings 1&2 live were phenomenal. Jambi's a great opener; Rosetta Stoned was absolutely killer. I like that song on the CD, but live, it opens up so much more. The entire band seemed in great spirits. People who have seen multiple shows on this tour have bitched about the setlist, bit it's SOOO much better than what they played last time, I loved it. All around, a solid 9/10.

A few of the comments I remember...

"Salt...Lake...City...it's been awhile."

"I don't know how many of you know, but it's national jerk your neighbor off week, so...."

"Rape isn't funny. Unless it's Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny. Then I guess it'd be funny."

Maynard was mic'd a bit low, but that's a minor complaint. Plus I got there late and missed Trans Am, but that's noone's fault but the babysitter's.

I heard rumors there are extra posters for the Austin show signed and they are selling them off at the concerts. Would anyone be willing to pick one up for me? I of course will pay for it and shipping and I can even give you a non-signed poster of the Austin show. Please PM if anyone could help me out or at least check any of the upcoming shows

was at the show as well. thought it pretty good. sound levels were off a bit. fucking hate the people moshing during wings and acting belligerant in general (fights, air-drumming and hitting people, stupid shit like that). you didn't miss anything if you didn't see trans-am. I like that kind of music occasionaly but that was fucking boring. overall the show was a little bit underwhelming for the amount paid, but some pieces of those songs I will never forget.

Does that mean more time that Tool will be on? i.e. MORE songs?

I really like the Adam drawings but $400.00 is a lot. I'll probably just get the $75.00 signed edition.

Less then 4 weeks till The Pearl...waiting is difficult to do.

The signed posters at Tulsa were gone so quick! I didn't even see one. They still had Austin and New Orleans signed ones(none for Houston). I bought a shirt and a NON signed poster for $20 .... I didn't know to look for them when I was in Houston I had already planned to buy a shirt in Tulsa and didn't look close enough at the merchandise table when I walked by. Did anyone on here get a Houston poster or see what they looked like ?

I agree with everyone that has stated that Vicarious is a poor tune to end the show with. The last three times I've seen them this tour they have ended with ænema, which does so well as a closer! I guess I'm spoiled, and either way I will have a blast tomorrow night (and Saturday night - lucky me).

I thought I'd mention that GA floor tickets have been released for the Saskatoon show by the clowns at ticketmaster. Otherwise, only the last couple of rows are left in a few of the upper-level sections. I hope everyone going tomorrow night has a blast, I know I will!

I actually think Vicarious is a great closer. Its very diverse musically and has that nice little head bob "march" towards the end. Although Aenima would be 10x better, Vicarious is still better to end the set with than Lateralus IMO.

i think lateralus is the best closer i have seen, so powerful.

i got the last signed poster in billings, pretty cool, wish i had the 400 to spend on the sick one but maybe in everett.

billings sshow rocked, much better than when i saw them at the metra in 2002.

Aenima is the best one ive seen on this tour. I dont like Vicarious the song, period. Just a personal preference, but i dont like the pace and and the overall integrity of the song...it sounds too commercialized and radioish to me.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

I was just reading a few of the reviews of the latest shows and thought of something. Wings is a very emotional song and something that can never be understood by us of course; we all know tool doesn't like flash photography to begin with, let alone during something as meaningful as that song. When i went to the Southaven Mississippi show back in may, there was seats on the floor instead of GA standing room only and people weren't moshing and fighting and acting like juveniles during the show. When they played wings, i sat down as did almost everyone on the floor. We didnt take pics on cellphones, didnt mosh, didnt sing along and didnt show out...just sat there and was very respectful of what we were experiencing. I dont remember for sure, but i think we may have held up lighters during that song and an aura that was more than the sum of several thousand people flicking bics illuminated the arena and i think they really appreciated that. At the end of the show they did their hug thing and went off stage. No boos, or yelling ensued and they came back out immediately and played Aenima with a very inspired ferocity and looked as though they were really having more fun on that song than the rest of the show.

I figure if people stopped acting like fools and respected the Maynard's wishes when he was singing a 20+ minute long emotional out-pour of a song they might would respect the crowd enough to play another song..get something special for an encore...just a thought people. Im not calling any names or pointing any people out, but some people need to grow up and realize the time for moshing and being energetic is not during a song someone wrote about their family in such a grave personal tone. Im really suprised Maynard doesnt say fuckit and leave when people throw shit on stage and act stupid during the song.

They play songs at the shows to get the crowd jumping and hyped up, such as stinkfist, jambi, flood, and whatever moves you at the moment, but i would suspect that if some showed more respect and reverence at appropriate times, it would mean alot to the band. They may not play anything special all the time, and theres no selfish demeanor in what i say about being respectful during wings to where u may get an encore, but just think about it. I believe it would mean a lot to them and show the maturity that i believe they expect from their fans (at least the die hards and not these johnny-come-lately douches that havent grown with the music).

Peace people. Love yall

sorry to say, but if the 20-min outpour is so emotionally devastating, then stop performing it. this is a show biz. while my heart goes out to the man, an arena is not exactly the type of venue for support group or something-anonymous meetings. we all go to a show for different reasons. we all go to a tool show for many different reasons. some want to heal, some want to get high, some want to connect, some want to get wasted, and some want to cum. it's a show biz and sometimes a showman just has to put up with the kind of shits and crap incident to putting up a show. i love the band, love the man, and always have a good time at the show. but i don't get out of my way to judge other people in the audience, or judge the band, because we are there for different reasons. didn't the man tell us before to let ourselves live in chaos and be vulnerable?

and really, if the man really couldn't stand playing/singing a 20-min outpour of wings/10,000 days in front of a bunch of drunk assholes, then f*&k with the audience with a 20-min ride of pushit+third eye or the good o' DRT trilogy; i would be equally happy. if I would embrace whatever the man on the stage decides to bestow upon me at any particular show, the man should also embrace the crap that he, like any other showman, inevitably gets from the audience.

peace out. love most of y'all ;-)

I didnt say i had developed a be-all, end-all how to guide for concerts, i was just making observations. I also said i wasnt pointing fingers. Im not getting on a high horse or anything like that, and i wasnt trying to run my mouth about something that is not any of my business, I was just rambling.

Peace people. Love yall

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

This tour has created a lot of mixed emotions for two main reasons:

1) if you have been a fan of Tool since "Undertow" or before that you know that they are something special and different from everything else out there. They've been that way since 1991 and maintain that to this day which is commendable. If you've been a fan of them for that many years you’ll know that every tour has been more special than the last. The "Ænima" tour, the 1998 mini-tour and the "Lateralus" tours were all very special with a lot of depth, emotion and spontaneity from the band – they clearly were enjoying themselves. Common themes for all of those tours were: evolving thought, thinking for yourself and choosing compassion over fear – all of which were mentioned by Maynard during many of those shows.

2) it’s hard to take a particular side on some of the “issues” with this tour. It’s no secret that the set lists and material have been very static throughout this entire tour. It is very frustrating, I’ve personally been to four shows this tour and have gotten very similar sets. I won’t complain about that because it was my choice to see them that many times and I don’t regret it. I understand that I could have seen one show and opted out of the rest. The thing is, even though all of those shows were very similar they were all fantastic. I’ll admit the band didn’t seem as “in to it” as previous tours but the overall performances didn’t suffer at all as a result. That is why it’s so hard to be upset about static set lists but it is also a little sad because of what is being missed. So much from previous albums are not being played and it seems like wasted potential. They have every ability to alter their performances and just floor the crowd but they seem to want to stick to repetition and spruce up existing material i.e. “Schism”, “Lateralus”, “Vicarious”, etc.

I’m not sure where I’m going with this, I’m not trying to stick up for the band or the people complaining. I’m not trying to pick fights with anyone on here either, I guess I’m just trying to vent my frustration, elation and conflicting feelings about this tour. OK, well enough of that...
