I take that last part back, after listening more, it's definately just "Cut it all (it all) right in two"

"Where there's one you're bound to divide it"
What kind of sense does that make?
I hear "wonders when you're bound to divide it"

If you listen to the very last time he says this line in the song, it's painfully obvious that it's just an echo effect that's confusing everyone

ok kids, great work. posting it to tdn/Lyrics.
i'm adding my two cents here-
i still think it's Cutting our love right in two.
i also think that Benched along with ... is a good guess.
but i think it's actually Mixing Love with patience and reason. maybe?

Finally someone who sees. It only makes sense that it is "GOTTA DIVIDE IT ALL RIGHT IN TWO" Just listen, it all makes sense, and fits into the context. Every other time he says "right in two" he says "bound to divide it." You can also clearly hear the "v" being sounded every time.

They fight, they die,
Over earth, over sky.
They fight,
Over lie, over blood, over air,
And light, and then love, over truth, over blood.
They fight, till they die. Over what, for our lies? <--- maybe "for our lies" is "for their rising" instead?

This is what I hear...
"They fight, and they die...
Over earth, over sky.
They fight over life, over ground, over air...
And fight over love, over some, over none...
They fight, or they die, over (want/one?), (till their/over?) rising"
The last line is sketchy, but I'm confident on the first 4.

Um, hi guys, listen, I've listened to this song over and over again. There's no 'it' after 'when there's one you're bound to divide'. He says "when there's one you're bound to divide right in two" i.e. fight over it, not "when there's one you're bound to divide it right in two" i.e. share it...

Yeah, there's no meaning in saying "bound to divide it" and on the chorus sing CUTTING SOMETHING RIGHT IN TWO.
And for sure, is a V on the chorus.

Well, since he doesn't say 'bound to divide it' maybe the chorus is something diffrent too? "gotta light all right in two" is the closest thing to I'm hearing. but that doesn't make any sense, so...

BTW the "fight over..." part of this song is awesome. Its probably my favorite part on the CD today, but that will probably change tomorrow.
Right In Two
Angels on the sideline,
Puzzled and amused.
Why did Father give these humans free will?
Now they’re all confused.
Don’t these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around?
Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys,
Where there's one you're bound to divide it,
Right in two.
Angels on the sideline,
Baffled and confused.
Father blessed them all with reason,
And this is what they choose?
Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs they forge a blade,
And where there's one they're bound to divide it,
Right in two.
Right in two.
Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground.
Silly monkeys give them thumbs they make a club,
And beat their brother down.
How they survive so misguided is a mystery.
Repugnant dismal creature who would squander the ability,
To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Fight, or they die.
Over earth, over sky.
They fight, over lie, over blood, over air,
They lie, over love, over truth, over blood.
They fight, till they die. Over what? For our lives? [For our lies?]
Angels on the sideline again,
Benched along with patience and reason.
Angels on the sideline again,
Wondering when this tug of war will end.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Cut it all [Cuttin’ my/our love] right in two.
Right in two.

Gah! There's no 'it'! This is very important! Listen to the song again, I can assure you that you will not here 'it' after 'divide'! Everything else is roughly right, apart from that...

There is no love in the chorus.

Accept for the function of a fucking awl is to poke holes in things and mark wood. If I wanna cut something in two thats the LAST tool I would use. It's not fucking rocket science what he is saying. Stop trying to "break the code."

maybe it's "Kinda how you go right in two"
cutting our love right in two dosen't make sense to me, give the rest of the lyrics.
maybe it's something like "Kinda how you know right in two"
i keep hearing "Kinda" not "cutting"

Nope, I honestly can't hear any 'it' at all there. And I've played this song really loudly and really quietly, it's still not there. I'll e-mail a clip to someone or something if that's allowed, but there's really nothing after divide except for 'in'...
PS at least I can spell :-p

I agree that he stretches out divide into three syllables in the "holy garden" verse like divi-ide. However, the "forge a blade" verse I definitely hear "bound to divide it" or "bound, too divided." Of those two options, "bound to divide it" makes more sense to me with the rest of the verse.

Just listened to the 'blade' verse again, was preparing to admit defeat, but he just says 'diiviide' again, no question about it :s

mmh... for the fight section again... I would combine floweringfigtrees's and Steventh's versions like this:
They fight and they die
Over earth, over sky
They fight over [life/lie], over ground, over air
And light over love, over some, over none
They fight, till they die. Over what, for our lies?
btw, it's my first post ppl :)

for the part after "cut our life right in two"
it sounds to me like:
...Fight, and they fight,
over Earth
over sky
they fight,
over love,
over life,.......
(thats as far as I go with a definite difference of opinion)
anyone in agreement?

angels on the sideline
puzzled and amused
why did Father give these humans free will?
now they're all confused
don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around?
plenty in this holy garden, silly old monkeys
well there's one you're bound to divide it
right in two
angels on the sideline
baffled and confused
father blessed them all with reason
and this is what they choose
monkey killing monkey killing monkey
over pieces of the ground
silly monkeys given thumbs
they forge a blade
and then theres one bound to divide it
right in two
right in two
monkey killing monkey killing monkey
over pieces of the ground
silly monkeys give them thumbs
they make a club
and beat their brother down
how they survive so misguided is a mystery
repugnant, is the creature who would squander the ability, to lift an eye to heaven, coscience of his fleeting time here.
brothers sleep inside here
cut it all right in two
cut it all right in two
cut it all right in two
cut it all right in two
fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky
fight over life, over blood, over air
fight over love, over sun, over another
fight each other, over
angels on the sideline again
been so long with patience and reason
angels on the sideline again
wondering when this tug of war will end
cut it all right in two
cut it all right in two
cut it all right in two
right in two
right in two

over the clouds, over wind, over sky
Fight over your lie, over blood, over anything
Fight over love, over sun, over nothing
Fight till they die,
(Ahhh!) over what? for their ending
I think it should read:
Fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky
Fight over lives, over blood, over air and
Fight over love, over sun, over nothing
Fight till they die, over what, for their lives end
I've removed a lot of the music to where you only hear music in the background and the voice comes through pretty clearly. I'm certain that this is the way that it should read.

I think it is as originally posted in the lyrics, just cutting it all right in two. I just think he exaggerates the cutting, as if it is two words, cuttt ttting it all right in two.

I do not hear "Cutting OUR love right in two". I don't hear anything that sounds like "OUR" at all. I hear "Cutting MY love right in two." The "I" sound in "MY" is very clear.
Also, a possibility at the end instead of "Benched along with patience and reason" could be "BEEN SO LONG with patience and reason".

I think this is the closest yet. For me it's a tossup between this and "Cut it all (it all) right in two" using either an echo or layered vocals just like are used in other songs
And as much as I wanted to hear "divide it right in two" I hear "divi-ide right in two"

I agree with the "Cut and divide it all right in two".
If you listen, its actually all pronounced as one, kinda like "cutanddivideit all right in two" very quickly, if you listen you can really hear the "it" right at the end of it. I'd say this is exactly what he's really saying.
And it all fits with the "divide" references throughout the song.
