So...melvins and tool collaboration on ipecac, due out sometime in May? Or July?
Or is everyone going crazy with anticipation?

lol, McRoggles RREAAALLLY REALLY likes this album
Just fuckin' around but, I love each album. Each album brings a little something different to the table and I love them all in their own right.
Although I must say that I thought Lateralus was a total stand out from the rest and a masterpiece.

I read in a mag interview, maynard said that Lateralus was more "chemically" influenced than 10,000 Days, and that the latter was more organic and earthy. Even though songs like rosetta stoned and the pot reference drugs, they are merely observing and reporting. 10KDays being the reporting, and lateralus, the observing. it's funny how they never mention nor reference anything about drugs in lateralus, yet they were probably on more acid, dmt, what-have-you, than any other album.

Whatever they need to do to make another album as awesome as Lateralus I suggest they do.

I hope not. Personally, (and I know many agree and many disagree) I found 10k to be very dissapointing.

I still like 10k Days but I still feel to this day that it was either lacking somehow or simply missing something; it's not even something I can really put a finger on.

It's missing about one more song, and yet another slower interlude-ish track like "Disposition". With that, I think the album would be complete.

I was afraid you were being serious. I like 10kDays, but best ever? I'd take an album over it. Jambi, Vicarious, R.S., some of the best songs to date. Album wise, coming in at the bottom, which is consensus. But I applaud you for sticking to your guns. I won't talk shit about it or to you 3 years after the fact. They had a hell of a tour. I saw them 5 times since CocHella 06. And I'll continue to see them at least twicw this go round, despite my feelings that something was missing in this last album. I'd pick opiate or undertow any day of the week over 10kd. But it's still Tool, and I love those f-in sell outs.

The other albums, after all those years, have those moments. Maybe 10,000 Days will have those as well in 3-10 years. But for now not.
Wings for Marie/10,000 Days still is untouchable. There is something with the song. Another level.

I'm a big fan of 10,000 Days... I think besides Aenima, it gets the most play in my Zune and radio. I too have yet to grow bored, but I think the album still lacks something or leaves something to be desired. I still believe that if they threw on another song and a filler track, the album would have been embraced as the pinnacle Tool album by fans.

I agree. It only makes the expectations around upcoming material even higher.

I'm digging their cover of "Stayin' Alive (2005 Jive Re-mix)". Talk about a box solo.
