critique, comment.... constuctively. view one, or all, i don't care. i would like some opinions, though.
i started to doodle a lot when i was in highschool in class when i got really bored, and it's kind of spiraled out into something different, something that i do constantly. I generally give some of my art away/sell it to people who enjoy a good trip. I have still never tripped. would you like to trip with some of it?
I draw and design words, normally words signifying some sort of emotion, someone's name, etc. Generally, i try to camoflage the words so that they look kind of like doodles; simultaneously, theres is more meaning that what your eye can see.
On the contrary, some of my art is just doodles and randomness (and eyes, i love eyes)...
I'm interested in your opinions. These are a couple that i have currently just finished or am still working on................................................ ..............................
-word art:
this is my biggest project- i'm almost done with it: it's about 3' x 2' feet.
*It contains the words: fear, confusion, wild, curious, woodie (my grandmother), love, pain, crash, and the lyrics to lateralus. See if you can find any (curious is really obvious)*
this is going to be a huge project, and i think it'll be pretty kick ass when i finish...
It is one continuous string, it never breaks and starts back over again.
I like the first one a lot. It is very vivid and energetic. I also really like the never ending string. I can't wait to see what they look like completed. The painting at the end is also interesting. How did you do that... turn it a few times while it was wet?

No, it's a bit more complicated than that. That picture doesnt really do it justice. Theres a lot of layers to it and an interesting texture. But something of that process in the begining. I generally use neon colors... and sometimes ill use glow in the dark paint. It's pretty cool to look at in the dark.

Damn you really are very creative and gifted a788.
i really like the doodles and the names in it, it looks like a big mess in an eye glance but when you focus it all comes together like a puzzle. and thats what i love about it. you can see it in 2 different ways; the blurry one and the tight one.
really nice !
wish i could draw and paint like that.. my paintings never really reach this level =[
thank you so much! i'm glad you like it. I just started experimenting around and fiddled with some techniques and all sorts of patterns and designs emerge. I enjoy that sort of stuff. And trust me, they don't always turn out right!

Wow, the first abstract drawing is amazing. Looks like you've been working on it a long time. Can't wait to see your "huge project" when your finished. That's one hell of a start.
I also like the use of gravity in your painting. I'll use what ever I can.
Lots of potential.
I like where you are going with that painting.
If you used that style and morphed it into something kind of like impressionism it would be hawt.
They look awesome...I love the symphony of colors ...

awesome. thank you, everyone! I'll start trying some of the new things you've mentioned, and then ill post them up here. It'll take me a very long time to do the continuous string project... more like forever.... but thanks, again. it's very exciting when people like your work.

haha well, ive had some people offer to pay for some shit when i wasnt giving things away, but at this point, im not making art to make money off of it. I would rather just give it away right now. but maybe ill feel differently when im broke....

well, enjoy it. i wish i had taken an art class. like i said, all this originated from the enjoyment of doodling and me thinking that they look cool. If you have any work up, do share.

I was a fine arts major for a short time. I enjoyed the photography class because they had equipment I could use there that I couldn't afford. The other classes I took however turned out to be some sort of misfit's club. There were like two other people in each class that actually sat down and worked quietly. The rest wanted to just sit there and babble while they produced the same shit they did in kindergarten. I found it to be more of an annoyance than a help. We actually had a couple who took one class together and all they did was argue with each other the whole class period and despite the fact that they made everyone in the class uncomfortable they were allowed to continue.
I am not against art school though. I am sure that it can be useful when the right environment is available. I don't think it is entirely necessary to be an artist though, especially if you don't plan to do it professionally. You can research technique and theory through books and internet research and the rest is just practice, practice, practice. I have considered continuing my fine arts major when the kids get a little older but it would be more for the experience of going than the education.

i just figure it couldn't hurt and that i probably would enjoy it. I don't really plan on my art spurring into something greater than me doing it as a hobby, so schools not really necessary.

I like this one the best out of the second set. There's just enough space for the colors to breathe. I personally prefer your first set since the forms are a bit more defined.
The pictures came out great. They look like individual paintings. I love how there's more and more detail the closer you get. How big of a canvas did you use?
I don't know how many glow in the dark colors there are but a painting like that with all or mostly glowing paint would be sweet!

it is, but at that point, the picture was taken while the paint was still wet, and in process of being completed. So, it doesn't always have that same appearence.

All very cool stuff a788, I like the first one you posted, and the word art ones are great too (especially reaching up and reaching out).. love the paint drips off the bottom. "Create" kinda reminds me of the mating sequence in Pink Floyd's The Wall, were you going for that? Looks cool anyway.
This is a good one, looks neat. It is true that you could probably sell this stuff to the right people, it's goodness. Keep it up, it's good you're just doing it for the sake of it, not the ca$h. respect
