Rosetta Stoned was the only track that didn't seem completely dull to me on a cursory glance. I have come to appreciate Jambi and the Wings for Marie combo however.

I still can't really like Right In Two too much. Its a good song, I like it, but theres something missing. And it doesnt remind me of the salival pushit, just because its got tabla on it. The salival version of pushit, is in a class of its own imo. And the last part of right in two, reminds me too much of fortysix and 2, so thats an other reason i cant like it, though I love 46 & 2. But on the whole, I dont find right in two that great. The tracks that stood out for me on the new album on first listen were Jambi, and the title track.

Wings/10.000 days
the most emotional stuff that tool has ever created, i think. here's the blues. i listened the tracks with my eyes closed, and it was the first time that a Tool song made me cry (not much, but a bit, and that is much actually). the use of the rain and storm effect is great, and it reminds me of The Same Deep Water As You by The Cure (and actually Life Is A Pigsty by Morrissey also)...

Definately Rosetta Stoned. I was abit confused with some of it and so I kept listening to it to try and comprehend what was going on. It's now one of my top five favorite songs.

This could mean:
- "Recycled riffing" and that much hatred / or trying-to-be-funny-ness that it's said like it was a whole song OR just a harmless recycled-riff-joke.
- The Grudge is still their best work, plus PROBABLY: bashing 10,000 Days because of unknown reasons.
- Spam, no meaning at all. Perhaps trying to be funny, which would actually be the only possibility that comes close to funny.
etc.
Thanks for this insightful post.

Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned
It sounded really fun and it got me pumped up. I heard the "krispy kreme" and "Sudafed" jibberish and I knew this song would be like putting together some sort of wierd puzzle (which was further evidenced by the name of the song). 10,000 Days was next because it set a dark and moody environment.

On my first listen it was Rosetta Stone. 2nd listen, Right in Two - although it's one of my least favourite tracks on the album now for some reason, I don't connect with it the way I do with the other tracks. On the third listen, Jambi. It took a while before I really got into 10KDays and the Pot but I am now...
As for Lost Keys, hearing them do it live minus all the doctor and nurse crap is awesome, really shows off the song in its best light.
