Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I pulled 4 in sect. 105 for the Atlanta show only to have the website tell me the timer ran out on my order. There was almost a full minute left on the clock.

I couldn't get 4 together after that so I called and the automated service got me 4 in sect. 109 a little behind the stage. Again at the end it had "technical difficulties" and I lost those seats.

Ended up getting two sets of 2 in 104 and 119 respectively. Certainly not bad but stressful as hell.

I always get amazing seats for every show but TOOL, hah. Somehow I've never pulled floor seats a single time. I'm clearly doing it wrong.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

The Dallas show ticketing system had to be the worst that I had ever dealt with. Having said that, after 15 minutes of trying, I lucked out and scored some kickass tickets.

Follow it up with some Row D Puscifer tickets and I'd say I am one luck SOB

Oh, and while in waiting-room-purgatory, picked up 1 second-row seat for Puscifer. Never seen Puscifer, but should be fun.
I just saw Puscifer last week in SF, very very mellow show. You could feel the crowd wanting more energy and angst, but still cool to see MJK work.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

As much as I love Tool, I find it hard to believe they sold out of all these unannounced shows so damn quickly. I checked out Stubhub and what do you know? 8 pages of seats (duluth show)! It's been less than 4 hours since they went on sale! Ticketmaster/ Stubhub are a joke. They got some great software over there.

I'm just going have to wait until close to the concert and try to get some underpriced.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Ok, first to the person(people) who suggested the LiveNation app...thank you!!!! The last time I was buying tix at the exact time they went on sale was APC in Cincy. I logged in at 10 and had to wait on their servers for like 4-5 minutes, then when I got through, I had seats in the back. I won't go into the rest of the story, but let's just say I hate TicketNation or whatever that monopoly is called more than I already did.

Anyway, today, I was ready with the app (and the website as a backup) and the first pair I pulled up were on the floor. They weren't front rows, but definitely a much, much better experience for me.

FYI, I just pulled up a pair of lowers with a bad angle to the stage (i.e. TOO close to the stage) on TM, so the Toledo show is not COMPLETELY sold out. Good luck.

There is no way the entire floor at Reno would sell out in less than a second.

and why is this tour selling so much better than last summer? hell many dates were not even sold out.

I bet more than half the floor tickets were sold to premium ticket dealers before the public sale date.

Live Nation app for the win. Seems like it opened up a minute before the browsers could get in. Scored a floor seat Reno for my brother who was tied up at work. Wish I could go---I hate responsibility. Make sure you sneak in those HD cams--let's get some bootlegs out there on the 15th :)

I work in revenue management (the practice of using statistics and modelling to price items). We recently held a conference and had the head of RM at livenation give a speech. They are moving towards a model in which each seat essentially has it's own price. The highest demand seats will sell for a lot more, and the shittiest seats will sell for a lot less.

Of course, any concert that sells out will probably not have any seats that sell for less. That will probably only happen at concerts that don't sell out.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I have a bit of a dilema here,do i get my Puscifer (Omaha) tix NOW? or wait for an Iowa-Omaha-ish TOOL date on this tour thats popping up? I shant hold my breath though cuz the last time they came to Iowa some douche-nozzle threw a flip flop which hit Maynard and cost us the last song on the set!

Did you score for ATL? I pulled row A, Center balcony (sec 200), which is actually OK since my son will be with me for his first tool show. My days of fighting for a spot on the rail appear to be over! It's OK, as you can see from my sig, i've had quite a few. I actually got mine by phone, I tried on the internet and as soon as they went up for sale i was on there and they were sold out.

Nice. Row A, section 207, is probably a decent location to get the full perspective. I got section 119 and 207. I tried to buy 2 tix together, but TM was not cooperative. I'll let my friend decide which one he wants, then take the other one. If he doesnt like either ticket, I may sell the section 207 ticket...

I like how their "On Sale Now" is actually "Sold Out Now."

Interesting to see that the show I'm seeing is the last one. Not entirely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I'd say it's a good thing. I've never been to a final show of a tour, but I'd think any band would want to finish up on a high note right?

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I've seen the last show of their tours a few times. The band is usually in great spirits, Maynard always talkative. Justin always gets hammered, Maynard did last time too.

For the first time in a long time, I'm going to hold out on setlists. I'm already antsy.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

So, how did everyone do? Still gotta read all the new posts. After smoke cleared, I have section 5, row B for Tucson and section 1, row Q for Vegas. Not too shabby at all.

It looks like I have an extra now for Vegas. Really good seat (section 106, row G). I'll post up in the tickets thread.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I learned quite a bit about the LN app today. One thing- if it doesn't find something within 1-2 minutes or so and the loading bar just sits there, it's better to cancel out and try again. I let it sit on the Tucson date and it probably cost me. Without fail the seats I brought up on the app were better than the seats on TM's clunky servers.

well the date is between TX and OH. That leaves the midwest. Really hoping for Kansas City. Can deal with St. Louis i guess but please Kansas City. Do it for Danny's dad! I just went to Chicago a week ago and am not willing to make the trip again. Hope thats not the case.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Sprint center in kc is already booked for a show the 21st but the arena in okc isn't so crossing my fingers for that. That Dallas ticketing bullshit is the worst time I've ever had getting tix. I had my phone an iPad both trying an never got through on the phone until much to late. Tickets are on eBay for over a grand per pair and cheapest on stubhub $170 a pop. I really wish the tool army site was up to date an there was some pre sale thing for those of us who paid for that bullshit.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Are all these shows selling out ? I went on ticketmaster whileago and could not even get a single seat for Atlanta . Why does it say find tickets if they are sold out ? I already have my seats but a friend of mine is looking for a single.

Well, obviously any city in between Dallas and Toledo are possibilities.

However, because the show is on the 21st I would suspect it will be in a city closer to Dallas than Toledo.

Which means one of:

Kansas City
Oklahoma City/Tulsa
St Louis
Memphis

I see I miswrote.. . you got section, "200", which I probably prefer to the second ticket I purchased in section 207 - those side locations aren't quite as fulfilling.

Of course, any concert that sells out will probably not have any seats that sell for less. That will probably only happen at concerts that don't sell out.
This probably explains the lack of GA admission on the floors. Its much more difficult to identify floors as premium locations when seat locations aren't specified.
