Oh yeah well my sister likes to plant flowers and she told me the next Tool album will come out in Christmas 2010 but Adam won't be on the record, instead it will be Jimmy Page and King Buzzo playing Warr Guitar and Mandolin respectively!!

Dear god, Maynard isn't blue OR wearing a bra--how did you find this one? XDD His voice has always been amazing, hasn't it? I don't think he's lost a thing.

Most will disagree with you on that. His tone has changed a considerably over the years which prevents him from nailing those screams and/or high notes quite the way he used to. Pick any one song and find versions of it on youtube performed live over the years Tool have been in action... Flood or Sober are good examples... and just listen to how his tone has changed. Or even listen to his speaking voice from as far back as the CAD days to now... hard touring and screaming every night has definitely effected him. I still think his voice is in fine shape; last summer (2009) I thought he sounded stellar at Lolla and when I saw him with Puscifer I felt he sounded even better... like jaw droppingly good. But his voice isn't what it used to be. He's definitely been trying to find a way to balance his voice these days with older songs.

I suppose so...I have noticed definite changes in his speaking voice. And then there is this new version of The Pot, as well, that is adapted...I apologize, what do you mean by balance his voice with older songs? I'm a guitarist, I don't have these problems (yet, guitar is 2 years old now) :)

relax... all the information available says that the MOST apc will be doing right now is laying down a couple tunes that will be released digitally. No album. No tour. The next Tool album still appears to be top priority.

I don't think they did, or if they did it wasn't widely noticed. Have you skimmed through the reviews section? I only paid attention to the reviews for a few shows and only read mild speculations that little inserts or segues were possibly new material.

I've read quite a few and the only thoughts on new material were what elusivE mentioned. There were a couple occurances of this, can't remember which shows, but there were several where they played new stuff as segues that people were wondering about.

Josh Freese just posted on Twitter that yes, it's true, A Perfect Circle is waking from its 6-year slumber. The APC Twitter page has one post and one post only, from today: "It's on."

If that's the case, when will Maynard have time to tour with Tool and finish a new album? I know he likes to juggle a lot of things at once ... but two major projects is, well, ambitious.

so, no new songs were played during their summer tour? some jam(s) maybe but that's it. fuck it, we need new material. can't wait for this shit to hit the air.

your too impatient. it'll be out whenever it's out. nothing you can do is going to make tools new fancy music frisbee come any faster. it's best to relax and not think about it much.

and yes, no "new" songs, but i guarantee at some point in the future when we're all listenin to the new album(or possibly the new decoy album) we'll hear some things very similar to segments of live shows. much like wings in '02.

based on the fact that tool has begun the writing process for the new album, my conclusion is that we might have a new tool album withing 1½ year

Yeah, I also think that we won't be hearing any new material until 2012. APC starts touring this fall and they also might be recording some new stuff, which means Maynard will be quite active with that band.

Even with Maynard working with APC, I think 2012 is a bit much...surely something by 2011!! *crosses fingers*

2012 seems extremely pessimistic to me.i feel like this time next year is a better guess.
