Man, I keep comin back here like something is going to change. Think I will take a little break. Hopefully we'll know more soon.
well, it could have been from anything i suppose, but perhaps all of this touring wore his arm out and it happened while he was doing something other than drumming? just a guess, who knows really

Rhetorical Question: And beyond the touring, how fucking far will this delay/ suspend a future Tool recording/CD ?

i really hope the atlanta station does the same as i won 5th row tickets on monday.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
One thing to keep in mind: just because he'll probably be healed in 9 months, does not mean that's when the tour will necessarily be rescheduled. It could be upwards of a year, depending on how the band decides. We just will have to wait for more information.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Man, I know a guy that did that lifting up one end of a pool table. Muscle snapped, all bunched up at one end of his arm, had to get it surgically reattached. They'll have plenty of time to work on video(s) & dvd(s) though.
The toolband site says "Over the weekend, drummer Danny Carey tore a bicep." Hence only one bicep is torn.
i should've clarified. i wasn't saying he tore both. i'm saying the body part is biceps. so he either tore his right biceps or left biceps. the word is plural, kind of like pants.
however anyone spells it, let's hope it's a speedy recovery.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I'm glad to see most of you guys supporting the band. This is f'ed up. In an odd way, I'm glad this happened. The band can use this time to reflect on where they are. It was starting to seem like they were pumping shows out like Mickey D's pumps out hamburgers. Fuck that. Maybe now the band and us fans can start to realize just how much we miss Tool when they are away.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
well if blair said "new dates will be posted shortly," how would the tour dates be upward of 6-9 months away? i'm thinking in terms of, for example, sports that go on in some of these arenas or other things that have priority in certain venues.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
this has to be a motherfuckin joke. Blair's always up their ass on the where abouts of the band members...So lack of details leads to me believe this is bullshit.

Jones said they began working on 10KD about a year before it's release), then it shouldn't delay anything. So, say, if the tour is rescheduled in November (9 months from now), that still won't be two years since the release of 10KD.
Of course, this could all be bullshit, but it's how I figured it.
hahaha...another album? hahahaha, right!

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
don't expect for them to give us some special show or setlist when they come back. tools not like that anymore. i hate saying it, but its true.
BUT I saw them in Dallas last year and it was amazing! and I expected them to play same setlist for OKC this year, and I didn't give a shit. Tool is Tool.

no, we don't, but i'd say it's more likely that they never put out another album. i kinda hope i'm wrong, but part of me wouldn't even care anymore considering the lack of quality i'm expecting next time.

bullshit 10,000 Days was amazing! you all hyped it up too much. they are evolving. you dont want it to be Lateralus II. Just be glad bands like Tool exist. or we'd all be listening to Fall Out Boy

i didn't want lateralus 2 at all, i wanted something completely different and didn't get it. i admit i was expecting the greatest album ever, and i was very disappointed. 10,000 days is good, but not even close to amazing. aenima and lateralus are amazing albums, 10,000 days is better than most albums, but not amazing.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
His recovery depends on the tear grade of the muscle. A Grade 2 tear, a partial tear, would need about 4-5 months. However, a Grade 3 tear, a full tear, would need AT LEAST 6 months. If a Grade 3 is bad enough...well...full motion might not return...Let's hope his rehab goes well so he'll be back in 6-8 months.

Where's a Grade 1 tear in there, bub? I want 2-3 months tops! :P
Hope he is ok though and it's not really bad. I would imagine we'll find out how it happened at some point but right now I am mostly just curious what will happen with all the dates.
10,000 Days= Amazing album btw. Stop trying to tell people what is and is not amazing when it comes to music. What's amazing to one person can be the worst thing ever to another. Many months after the record's release and I am quite comfortable stacking 10,000 Days up to any of their other releases.

surgery would do more harm than good on a grade 1 tear. with a month before the tour is starting we probably wouldn't have heard about this if it was grade 1.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
The only consolation is that I know there will be a south FL show next time around.
Honestly, though, I was hard-pressed to even manage to go. I'm kind of glad it's being postponed. If nothing else, Maynard's voice will have plenty of time to recover. It wasn't any special day, so I'll live. I'll just go insane until they post a new date.
Wouldn't it have figured if they were playing Ozzfest? Meh, doubt it. I can't imagine Tool doing a free show. If they were meant to, though, we'd probably never hear about it.
