Because when TOOL takes the stage looking at your watch is the last thing going through your mind. But I think it is a bit after nine when they come out.

WE WANT MONTREAL OF OTTAWA GOD DAMN....SINCE 2001 FOR MONTREAL AND 2002 FOR OTTAWA...BUT EDMONTON AND CALGARY YES....SCUSE ME BUT MONTREAL HAVE MORE TOOL FANS THAN EDMONTON AND CALGARY TOGHETHER...I KNOW IT'S MY SECOND REPLY AND MY ENGLISH SUCKS BUT WHEN I SEE EDMONTON AND CALGARY HAVING TOOL IN THEIR TOWN...I WANNA CRY
Do you know anything about the venue they're playing in Illinois? Are there places to eat in the area? Will it be tough getting a parking spot?
Its the Allstate Arena... a big empty building. Its decent... I saw Mudvayne there a while ago. There isn't a whole lot to do around the area... theres a Target right next to it, which probably has a sit-down area where you could eat shitty Target food. Parking is fine, they have it nice and organized. I think its something like 15 bucks to park.
Los Angeles 9/7...and according to the reviews, Maynard walked off the stage for about a minute. The consensus being that he was too choked up to carry on, but who knows?
Apparently, it was played in addition to the current "rotation" of songs...which means a longer show.
It'll be interesting to see if Wings/10k days becomes a permanent fixture of the setlist...or if this was just a tasty treat for the "home crowd."
Musings?

amazing, that must have been one incredibly special moment that the LA fans will treasure for the rest of their lives... it seems as if the whole band were very nervous and emotional... what a moment for Maynard, I really feel for him. I really hope they keep it in the setlist....
im happy they played it, but i dont think they will play it every show. its maynards most personal song, and i think he would really hate to play it live every night. its a long tour, and they will probably tour again so eventually a lot of people will hear it, but for this tour i think it is only going to be played when Maynard wants to do it.
Bout time. It's practically the only bearable song on the album. And Maynard should STFU about it being "so personal". They named the damn album after it, so obviously they have no qualms about peddling it out to the masses.

What?? The only bearible song?? I usually skip that song while listening to the album. It is very loooong and slooow. I'm not sayin it's bad its just to slow for me. Plus he kind of sings under his breath and you can bearly hear anything he says.

So now that 10k Days have been played, do we think the song will be a regular at the rest of this year's shows, or perhaps it was only for the home crowd?
Best song on the album and glad they finally played it.
As for Maynard getting emotional that means he was getting the song right, I mean how often do you get to experience something like that? Anyway I wasnt there so hard for me to say what went on. I think it would be kind of like seeing Clapton doing "Tears in Heaven" for the first time, Im sure that got pretty damn emotional too...
I say it last night! Oh My God! What a moment. Maynard walked off the stage after the first few minutes of Wings For Marie (Pt. 1). I knew he was coming back though. It must have been extremely hard for him. I kind of had a feeling they were going to play it for the L.A. crowd.

It was amazing to experience this song live. It isn't my favorite on the album, but it really delivers live, especially will all the emotion of the band and crowd. I hope we get it again tonight.
I managed to get a couple 'after party' passes....which took place in a lounge in the VIP section....3/4 of the band was there (minus maynard) and family (camella, blair, etc.).....I got to speak to adam briefly and he mentioned the emotional intensity of playing 10k days...he was very greatful of my comments and expressed that it wasnt easy for the band (emotionally) either...
...one thing he did say was "tomorrow will be better". I cant imagine what they can do to possibly top last nights show, tonight. I will be there to find out.
how do you get these "after party passes"?

In case you didn't hear, the band performed "Wings for Marie (PT1)" and "10,000 Days (Wings PT2)" last night at the Staples Center here in Los Angeles.

Shit, so i see they finally played them. I read he walked off stage during the song. Anyone know what part of the song that was? I can't wait hear it live myself. and it must suck those that wanted to see it but didnt get a chance.
But What the Fyock? One general thread for any topic about the live shows?? I'm not weeding through that crap...ten gazillion posts...like gimmeabrrrrreak mon.
Maybe thats the something big?

There's a badass 10k Days poster that's expensive but worth it. Various tour shirts that are alright. One badass sweater, and a very old school looking Tool shirt.

AGREE! i said the same thing about 16 pages back or so, it was impossible to follow any topic within the thread then, and its getting worse by the minute... at this forum, more than anywhere, people find the sickest thing to debate so i cant see any rational reason for this... as if 10000 days-album should be one thread aswell... I hope they realize what moronic thing it was to do but now they'll have to walk the line all the way so they wont loose face. by the time this tour is over it'll be a hundred+++ pages, each own including fifty topics. freakin' freaks!
