WOW.

FUCK OFF.

I thought you were joking. I just checked this and I am in fucking complete shock.

I was planning on going to Montreal for their show this summer - turns out it is going to be their last concert ever.

I am now going to do everything I can to hit up a few more shows even if that means roadtripping for the northeast dates, or possibly missing a tool show if dates conflict.

...Ever since they opened for Tool in '06 they have been growing on me, and last year they really reached a new level of appreciation which easily made them my #2 band after tool.

This is a very sad day for me and puts a damper on the otherwise awesome summer tool tour.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I can't believe ISIS is no more. This is just not a good year for Metal so far.

My summer tours:
Tool
Iron Maiden
Public Enemy
Thrice
The Roots
Animals as Leaders
and The Blackdiamondskye tour if the announce a Calgary date

I'm 41 now, and I feel that seeing a Tool show will be smiled upon in 20 years in the same way that I'm jealous of those who were able to see Joy Division or Led Zeppelin. It's a very special show that we all will look back on and smile over, even if it's still the same fucking setlist.
Yo Danville I'm in San Ramon right on the edge of D-Ville. The party is in the BA come June!

No matter how hard I try, (Layne can't stop me now?) I find AIC infinitely too depressing to listen to. You can really hear the man dying in the fucking songs. Duvall does a great job, but the show I went to had this sort of post-funeral, downer feel to it.

Praying to God I'll be able to get a ticket to the sold out Bullet For My Valentine show tonight.

Then for sure going to:

50 Cent/Lloyd Banks
HURT (if you like Tool you should love this band) 7th time
Tool X2 6th and 7th time
Mayhem Fest (Korn, Rob Zombie, 5 Finger Death Punch, etc.)

Possibly attending:

Sting
Lady Gaga
Limp Bizkit
Alice In Chains/Deftones/Mastodon
Disturbed/A7X (going for A7X)
Roger Waters (if I either get money for a scalped ticket or some are released later on.)

Pretty good year for shows. Seen better but 2 Tool shows back to back is just as good (if not better) than Tool and Manson back to back last year, Manson being my second favorite to Tool.

Balls! This sucks royally. They've been one of my favorites the past several years. I don't even think I'm going to be able to catch a show on this last tour. Fuck, now my morning is ruined before it's even started.

Man, and I thought they were still pushing in new ways with their last album, I'm really surprised to read this.

Well damn. I remember reading an article in decibel magazine last year and they hinted that Wavering Radiant would be their last record (title of article was Wavering Goodbye), but I didn't think they would really quit.
Looks like I'm adding Athens, GA, on June 14 to my Summer itinerary.

I just had to yell at Wells Fargo to gimme $10 back for a, I quote, "Excessive Activity Fee." That was a fun morning.

Tool sadly looks like the only show I'll be going to in the near future.

Oh well, a Bad Religion-to-Tool is a pretty awesome spread :D

I'd say Dream Theater/Iron Maiden, but DT's last album was pretty awful. They really need to take a break and write some stuff out of studio.

P.S. if any of you have roots in punk, Bad Religion did a 30th Anniversary tour in SoCal and recorded it. Free download on their site. Sounds a-mazing.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a flying fuck about covers? In fact, I would be really pissed if Tool wasted a set list slot playing somebody else's song when they could be playing one of their own. I go to Tool concerts to hear Tool play Tool songs.

I last saw Deftones in a sweaty little joint and the sound sucked. Another friendly shoe goer did lift his shirt to show me where he'd been shot with a 9mm. FMJs, I'm guessing, since the front and back scars were about the same size.

Ah, metal!

I wonder when Blair is going to post the Seatle date I don't really care either way just kinda feel like people who don't read around the web either on here or Foutheye are getting screwed over. I mean come on the date is on ticketmaster, how much more official can you get? And yeah I see Tool to see Tool songs but I must add this includes No Quarter and You Lied if they happen to pull those put lol (If meaning never)

"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

i think most bands cover other bands at one point or another.

i go to concerts to listen to music. to hear my favorite band do a rendition of a song by another favorite band is usually a mind blowing experience.

of course if you are too attached to album versions of certain songs, i can see how you may not like covers.

I want covers; then the setlist will finally have changed!!

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

regarding covers: i agree with the person that said 99.9% of the time I would rather have ANY other tool song played than replacing it with a cover. however for the purposes of this argument you lied and no quarter = tool songs.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

well if they really are going to do a LA show around the 20th this is what they should do. between the SAC date and the LA date come over to UTAH. come to utah and then vegas, then end up at LA. Sac. is only 10 hours away from slc, so they can come to utah on the 16th or 17th and then go to vegas 18th or 19th and then end up at LA for the final show of the tour. THEN GO MAKE A GREAT GODDAMN NEW RECORD. see i should be the tour manager.lol.

EDIT: i am going to red rocks just want them to come to slc and vegas so i can see them 3 times this summer. yay

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

if tool never stepped foot in utah or SLC again i would not complain for a second.

vegas, on the other hand, should be a staple of EVERY tour.
