i believe that it is based on Jung's theory that everytime we evolve, we gain two chromosomes, 46+2, so he's in the process of evolving, as are we all. The muscle memory, i think is based on the theory that memory is passed down, or inherited, just like traits from our parents, so he's listening to his "muscle memory" to find out how he/everything came to be or where it all came from.
If you had even one extra chromosome you would be mentally retarted ...
The reason I appreciate this song so much is simply due to it being one of the more darker, moody songs by Tool while still maintaining a very positive message in it. Kind of hints to Lateralus more so than any other song of Aenima to me.
Congrats Big Guy!! Your the biggest, baddest alcoholic I know. Make sure you wake up with a human of the oppisite sex my friend. You dont wanna damage that ego of yours. :)
On a serious note: thats alot of fuckin alcohol to consume. You did that in one night?? If so, God bless you and I hope your liver stays intact.

"No, I pretty much got it figured out."
Agreed. But then someone always comes along and says "If we had 2 extra chromosomes we would be God and rule the world until the end of time." I think it takes repetition for some people to understand!
Its amazing the shit he gets away with saying because he's got a fucking peice of wood saying it. If you got on stage making fun of people with hair lips and lazy eyes, you'd get fucking stoned (the old definition of stoned).
Here's another good ventriloquist. I love the bits he does with the "volunteer dummies"
back on topic with the thread... I think what I like the most about this song is the way that Adam and Justin play off of each other. If anyone knows how to play guitar, you can follow me on this. During the Chorus, Adam hits open notes and then the 12th and 10th frets. Then they switch it up to where every time he is supposed to hit the open note, Justin hits it. They do the same thing in Right in Two.
Somewhat trailing off again... I really like Right in two because it exhibits everything that makes Tool badass... including this unique technique.
Yeah, Justin and Adam staying off time from one another is pretty cool in the bridge as well. Adam stays one note behind Justin the whole time. It's trickier to do than most people think (assuming you gel well with a band).

I usually hit the third fret on the 2 string, use a little wah effect and then I strum the 4th string on the 6th fret.

If i recall correctly you don't play any instrument...
If I recall correctly, you still haven't noticed that it was a slapstick joke. Anyone who knows anything about playing music would take one look at both statements and immediately know I have no fucking clue what I'm talking about.

I love this song because EVERY time I'm sitting around feeling sorry for myself and all paranoid that "nobody likes me and my life sucks...whaaaaaaaaa" I pop it in and it's like oh man, get over yourself. Maybe I have the song right or maybe I don't but it does the trick.
