Re: What do you consider to be the flaws of this album?
ticks and leeches has a lame chorus. the vocals are too loud on the patient and reflection. the biggest flaw to me is that right after the guitar solo in Triad, when the song cuts loose, it just isn't loud enough. i have to turn it up. that's a production issue. great album.

parabol - bit dated, still neat

Overall I can't listen Lateralus as whole anymore, it is pale and empty compared to Ænima and 10,000 Days.
Yes i stopped reading and no i don't give a flying hang about it.
Maybe Aenima still draws you more because that's where you are right now? Maybe that subject matter will always be closer to your heart. But to say Parabola is dated is like saying ''yeah, we've been thinking, can't the tree of life be like, i dunno, a transformer?'' Lateralus was a more precise tool than any other album, it cut deeper, but on fewer people. A lot of folks flat out hated it, but now some advocates are saying shit like this?
Aenima has far more spoonfeeding characteristics to it (not Wolfmother, but still spoonfeeding) than Lateralus. 10,000 days, same goes.
Maybe you miss breasts?
Ticks and leeches for life
Re: What do you consider to be the flaws of this album?
Ok, now i've read more of the thread, and what the fuck has happened to some of you people? I crept by here in 2004-5, though i was far too ''busy'' to post, and you nobs were practically shooting semen at your keyboards. What? A few years pass and you turn into fucking bedwetters? Fuck. The album said more before The Grudge (which is not fucking disjointed) even started than most bands have in six albums, twelve live DVD's and a dirth of coke-eyed interviews. Ticks and leeches was a big angry bowel movement which needed to pass, so they passed it.
You people could meet God, have him say exactly what you wanted or needed to hear, and a week later it's ''did you notice how his tie wasn't tied right, bleh,?''
''i noticed that, too, shnee.''
''well, i guess it's not god.''
''nope''
''wanna go lick the handrails on public transit systems?''
''you know it.'' and so on.
Get the fuck underground, not the scene, the thing under your keyboard. Spend four years there. LEARN TO APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE, NITPICKING, NITPICKING, NITPICKING.
- um, waiter, my soup, it's too cold.
- that's because it's Vichy Sois, sir.

Did you really just say that "The patient" is a flaw? wow dude your crazy man that sound is awesome. Please listen again.
Re: What do you consider to be the flaws of this album?
But anyways, the only flaw I see in Lateralus is just Schism. But, it wouldn't be a "better" album with it taken off, but I'm just always skipping Schism that if it wasn't put on, it wouldnt matter.[/QUOTE]
Why dont you like schism? that song kicks ass dude.
Re: What do you consider to be the flaws of this album?
Although I do like Ticks and Leeches, I agree with those that said it sounds out of place on the record. It seems like it would fit in better on Undertow.
