You must have been in a highly gifted school to be able to devise one of the rarest and most technologically advanced pieces of machinery that modern man could possibly replicate, no?
Oh. I get it... It's just not that hard, huh...

So basically Tool members let you down (I mean the chat thing was pretty much a hoax) and in return you give them 100$ for music you already had, right?
i would not pay 100 bucks

like if i met tool i wouldnt ask for an autograph probably, but if they signed something of mine i would think thats cool cos i met them and remember seeing them live.
but to buy an autograph takes a lot of that out of the experience. whats the point in having an autograph that you paid for, kind of ruins it for me i think.
especially when its $100 US dollars.
its just lame that toolarmy members pay heaps for shit service, the webchats are lame and tool dont tell them anything about new music. they just offer them a high priced autographed version of a vinyl they released 5 years after teh album came out.
if i still didnt hold faith that the new album willcome out and kick major ass, i would be out that door baby bye bye bye.
yeah i agree i mean whats the point of having a signature if YOU yourself didn't get it? why would you pay $100? i'd rather meet the band myself, but then again who wouldnt. and yeah im prolly gonna join TA just cuz i wanna get floor tickets to see Tool and i know by the time the presale is over everybody who is not in TA is gonna be sittin in the nosebleeds
i think the signed album would be a good investment. just think of how much you can get for the salival dvd set on ebay. in 20 yrs it will be worth some money, if kept in good condition.

I don't buy things to resell them. I buy things to enjoy them.
I paid a $100 for a vinyl copy Aenima, and that pissed me off. But that's about the cheapest I was ever going to find it, and in the end I was happy with it. I paid $50 for Lateralus, and was pissed off about that until the vinyl showed up, that was well worth it. The way the lateralus vinyl is signed is cool, but like most are saying....it's only a signature, and it's a generic one. Kinda an empty, but it's cool if you're into that kinda thing. TA always seemed like something anti-tool to me. More like a joke they were playing to get money from dumb kids and mock them while doing it. Kinda like the Kiss Army.

We did this last year, had some fun, so I thought we'd try it again (I'm sure you TA guys will think of something to ask them about).
Ok. I'm only a little annoyed that they hyped it all up to make it look like they were going to answer some questions when the whole thing, hoax or not, was just to sell $100 vinyls. They didn't need a chat for that. It's not like they wouldn't have sold out if they had just given a time that they would be onsale. For whatever reason...it was a little rude and I lost a little respect for them.
You fucking losers... 100 FUCKING dollars for a hand to write it's name in ink? Wow. Tool will for surely not be getting payment for a new album by me. I'm guessing you guys will be covering the cost though. Fuck them, and fuck all of you that bought that piece of shit.
I have got a signature drumstick from danny, catched at rock am ring 2001. I wonder what it is worth.Original sweat from danny....may be in a few years i can clone him with that.
I don't recall them ever saying they were going to do that, let alone it being 'hyped'.....
Thats why I posted the quote from blair. You don't say something like (I'm sure you TA guys will think of something to ask them about), especially with the parens, without expecting people to read into it. He meant it to be read into.
This was a very clever ploy by Tool, as they pretty much made the vinyl on sale ONLY to the people who were apart of the chat party, as opposed to giving a "big heads up" which would have caused chaos...
I unfortunately wasn't able to partake in the chat due to having to go to work, but I am very pissed off at this whole ordeal... Sure, it's just a signed vinyl, it does cost £56 and I wouldn't have earned the signature (like getting it signed personally) but the fact that I didn't even get A chance has made me very angry... This vinyl was one of many reasons I joined TA (I had put it off for a while) and I logged on 58 days straight (call me sad!) and to not even receive a chance is pathetic...
I'm sure Blair will be receiving lots of hate mail right now...

i emailed blair about the vinyl situation and how angry i was that he didnt give us a heads up, he stated they only put SOME of the autographed vinyls for sale. so the ta members who couldnt be involvedin the chat will have an oppurtunity to buy one...

Well, if he's telling the truth, then that's good to know... However, I still may end up being screwed due to the timing of the sale, I'm in England!
Still, I wonder how many of the 1000 they have already sold?!

I remember when Primus released The Brown Album on vinyl. They had a contest on their website, some sort of trivia thing, and the winners got signed copies of the vinyl for free. Just a way for them to show appreciation for their fans. Imagine that...
Paying $100 for an autographed vinyl is a joke, paying anything to be in a fan club is a joke, everything about Tool except their music, is a joke.
