Today is the first day since last Tuesday I've started to listen to something else beyond 10,000 Days, in which I felt like I was drowning a bit.
What other bands are other people listening to to mix it up, as it were?
Today, in addition, of course, to 10,000 Days (about 2/3 times) I also listened to:
King Crimson
Led Zeppelin
Jesu
Amplifier

Well, you live in Australia then, I have to guess...
For me, in America:
1) I don't listen to the radio anyway.
2) Wolfmother is just now getting big over here.
3) It's just now getting to summer here.
But I do know what you mean about different weather for different music. I listen to different music in different seasons...

i've seen wolfmother 3 times. a couple of times at festivals and once in a small enclosed bar. they seem to do better in front of a small audience.
a one festival they produced the craziest and most violent mosh pit i've ever been in. some people opened a skank circle and then a dozen people crowd surfed into it, and then it closed on top of them. pretty scary stuff.

Anyway, I've also been listening to all the Arcturus I just got, and Cult of Luna's new one.

almost nothing at all....totally glued on 10.000 days.
honourable exceptions for some older tool tracks (mainly 46 & 2, Disp./Reflection, Sweat) and a bootleg from their Ozzfest gig in Portugal,2002
By the way, from all the bootlegged shows I've seen/heard this is the only where maynard says something like "from now on this is our favourite place to play".
any comments on that? just being polite?is such a remark usual?
100% 'toolish' cycle for me right now...it happens

I have to agree with that first choice of yours. I'm a pianist and for me, there's no greater joy than being able to conquer one of Chopin's etudes or fantasies.

I keep going back and forth between Tool's "10,000 Days", "Demon Days", by Gorillaz, and "In Between Dreams" by Jack Johnson.

bunch of new stuff out in the last weeks. its been nice. the new chili peppers is sweet- we got tickets for the show in august with The Mars Volta. Gnarls Barkley is pretty interesting. Im usually not one for electronic music, but ive been getting into STS9. I want to see them live. looks like i may have a chance in september.

Haven't listened to anything but 10000 days since the Vicarious single leaked, mostly wings and 10000 days though. It's at least 4 times a day for those two, if not more. I don't even have my cd case in my car anymore. The only one I need is already in the player.
