Well just as an example. In the current Cricket World Cup, Aussie Andy Symonds returned after around 6 weeks out with a torn bicep after also having surgery. I'm sure DC is getting the best treatment he can, and I'd trust his physio's judgement.
Also I'm hoping the news post is an April fools ! :)
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Let me tell you guys something. Danny never injured his arm. He talked with someone I know in a hotel lounge about a month ago. He said he had no idea where the story came from. He didn't discuss why the tour was postponed either.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
anyone notice the update on the main toolshed.down.net news section? you guys think it's an april fool's joke? i mean the tool websites are known for that...
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
this is such an april fools prank.... my guess is they let us in on the joke tommorrow, and accompany their admission with all of the recheduled tour dates
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I'm hoping it's an April Fools prank otherwise thousands of people everywhere would be extremely upset and pissed off that this how tool ends. I'm 90% sure that it is a prank but then again the story coinicides pretty well with what's really going on as far as Danny's arm is concerned. I remember a few years ago when there was a post on toolband.com saying that maynard quit cause he had "found jesus"..lol and then last year they announced listening parties at nyc and other places as their joke.

April Fools Joke. It had me for about 20 seconds. Then I looked at the date on the post. April Fools Day. Tour is a go! The joke is really fitting though. Good one!

You should NEVER believe any "News" announced on april 1st.
Postponed again? Come on! Next you'll be telling me that Maynard found jesus....oh wait....he did that a couple years ago....
April fool's day is OVER! Can we give it a rest already. You know everything is a joke. There's no surprise. If tool really wants to return to quality pranks do them randomly throughout the year!!! Not when everyone is expecting them.

This is a really fucking CRUEL joke if it is a joke. God, I hope it is. I don't know, you think they would actually joke about an injury like that? It actually pisses me off if they would.

Yea, it is a bit cruel given the previous delay. But if you've ever met any of the guys from these boards, it's not really a surprise. The opening line should have tipped you all off anyway-
Slow Arm Healing Poorly
What does that even mean? Slow Arm? Ok, now that I think about it, that is pretty funny.

"They" (meaning Tool) aren't joking about anything.
This was posted on toolshed.down.net, which is not run by the band.
It's not Tool's April Fool's joke; it's Kabir and associates.
If by "they" you meant the toolshed people, then nevermind.
The Jesus thing the one year was Maynard (with Kabir), but the April Fool's jokes have (since 1997?) been primarily Kabir's thing.
And, it has to be at least a little bit sensational or it wouldn't be worth it.

I can't believe there are still those among us that believe these things. Every year there's a drama stirring post on or around 4/1 and everyone goes crazy, and every year it is revealed for what it really is, a joke.

That would be rad if someone could do an archive of the April Fool's Foolery... Any volunteers?

I found the tool listing on ticketsweb a week ago. Then it disappeared. The show also isn't listed on world arena's site. If you have a link to the for sale page it would be appreciated. Otherwise I think that the tour might actually be in jeopardy.

Where are you getting this info? It isn't on Ticketwest or the World Arena website.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Maybe some of us here at T.D.N are a little over-analytical, but sometimes I think Tool just plain sucks at communication.
A lot of people here are treating Danny's injury like the little boy who cried "Wolf!"
Tool always has to be so damn cryptic these days, and they never let their fans in on any information. This is what Tool gets for constantly fucking with their fans. Everyone knows that Maynard generally doesn't give a flying rat's ass about the fans and basically criticizes and chastises the listeners. It's like Tool is frustrated with how people take their music and image. "Come on people! It's just plain cryptic!" is the vibe I get sometimes. They're never down to earth. We've all read the meaning behind 46 & 2. Do you think they'd ever share that in concert? Of course not! They're totally against "sharing" their ideas cause they don't want people to "think" like they do.
So what happens when a member of Tool dies? Well, everyone will probably think it's a joke, and people should just chill out. This is their own creation. Tool cannot tell us something straight-forward and have people take it at face value. There's no down-to-earth side of them that says "Hey, this is really what's going on..."
Maybe I just can't take a joke, but I think it should be a wake-up call for Tool when something really fucked up happens and everyone thinks they're "Oh they're just fucking with our minds like they always do! haha!! Those rascals!" Then it's like "Wow, they said something they actually meant without the cryptaquote double-meaning bullshit."
I certainly hope Danny gets to feeling better, but am I the only one who thinks Tool is sending mixed messages when no one takes anything they say seriously?

when I went to ticketswest itself, i couldn't find this link. When i typed "tool may 9 2007" into Google, I found THIS
thanks also about the info on presales. I live in denver, so the springs are an hour away, but i guess joining now would leave me bottom girl on the pyramid.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Yeah, Tool at the Sziget Festival! I believe it to be good news for eastern/central european-fans:) http://www.sziget.hu/festival_english/news/85944.html , they are simply described as "the most influential rock band of the last decade", but the hungarian text elaborates a bit more. I suppose its quite usual and understandable for festivals to announce that every band they feature is the very best of its genre, but makes the listing a bit ridiculous. Its funny that it happens to be the truth with Tool :)
As for Danny's troubles with recovering, I hope it really is just an april fool's joke. :-p

I personally would rather discover what a sogn means to me. I'm so tired of people like Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan trying to say that their "music" (if it can be called that) has this deep, profound, exaggerated meaning. I heard Hilary duff on tv the other day saying "I've been through so much in the last year, and I have so much to say...blah blah blah". She then went into what she said the word dignity meant. COME ON. At least Tool's music can mean differnet things.
and I kind of like that they act like they don't give a shit about fans. If I have to hear Ferggy, Hilary Duff, Avril Lavigne, jessica simpson etc. babble on about how "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for my fans. they are so amazing". I may vomit. Musicians are where they are because a record company realized that they could make a shit load of cash if they marketed the artist/band to the general masses. Being mindless drones, the masses bought the album because the record company, image makers, etc. told them that the artist/band was cool.
