Rosetta Stoned may just be the best song ever written...and...HolyFuckingShit...isn't fiction...it really happened...to me...literally shit the bed...but it was green shit...and smelled like jolly ranchers...and yes E.T. made a cameo and...it was so real...you beLIEve me, don't you
?
I forgot my pen, too, just for the record, and a sailboat sailed across the sky! WTF? LOL...OMG!

Third Eye: The sliding guitar riff build up as it goes to a very subtle part of the song that builds up slowly and explodes into this loud annoying PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE over and over back to subtly as it builds once more. Song is epic.
What does the pot do? Nothing repeats itself. After a good 100 listens you realize it's a lame basic song.

All I meant was that he wasn't loosing bowel control.

I would just like to state that Third Eye is the greatest song in the history of music.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
lol @ people thinking Third Eye is bad.
guys are nuts.
anyways, I'm selling my Tool ticket for the Toronto show. I've decided there are paying $90 to see Tool, alone no less, in the middle of a weak, when I've seen them live 7 times since 2001....is not something I can afford right now. They always put on a good show, but after 7 times, it's kind of predictable what will happen.
I'll probably be bummed the day off the show, definitely more if I read they are cracking out some golden oldies for this tour (unlikely), but I'll get over it.

If I were you, I would wait until they have played a couple of non-festival shows to see how the set list is shaping up. Then I would decide whether or not I want to sell my ticket.
Money will come again and again and again. Tool wont.

I was planning on doing that, but I need the money sooner rather than later and already have a buyer for the ticket.
Listen... of course I'll be reading the setlists, fuck I've read the setlists after almost ever show they've played since the first Lateralus shows (it's a pretty odd addiction)....if for some reason they do some non festival shows and it's heavy on Aenima/Lateralus tracks (not just the singles) rather than 10,000 Days material, I'm sure I'll be able to find a ticket on craigslist the days right before the show for face value or close, fans always end up needing to get rid of tickets when friends bail. It's the scalpers who sell shit online for crazy prices.
So if that happens, it will be worth it for me to go. I love the band, but if I'm going solo, I just don't think it's worth close to $100 to hear the same songs I heard at the last 2 shows.
"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But theres a big chunk of their fan base that think theyve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."

I hope it works out that you make it, Sianspheric (that means a new set list!).
I know that Tool plays what they want to, but I just can't help but think that there will be significant changes to the set list. I had no problem with the set list at the 10k days shows, but now since that tour has been over for a year and a half, I can't see them playing the 10k days tour set list. If they don't and the set list is the same, well hey, its still a Tool show! If there are changes, even better.

Do you even have an inkling of a clue as to what that lyric means? Obviously not, otherwise you would appreciate the concept of the song. Obviously you are a closed minded human being who has no intent of furthering their spiritual evolution by venturing inwards.
After the amazing weekend I had with my good friend LSD, my pineal gland optics are 20/20 right now. 4th of July trippin nuts = helluva time. Still have a couple doses left... wondering if they should go to use for the SLC show.... hmmmm....

You think I literally meant the pineal gland "sees"? Well, one could actually look at it as though the pineal gland does see. What is an image anyway? Basically its decoded vibration. Our eyes act as a decoder, filtering all the energy and vibrations matter is made up of and then projecting code into the brain where it becomes an image. Our memory is made up of these images. So basically, one could say that our eyes dont see either, they mearly decode and project.

i am a bit stupid but i always thought seeing meant that
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
There are threads concerning individual songs in each album's forum. How about discussing the pros and cons of Third Eye and Rosetta Stoned in their respective threads and keeping the posts in this thread relevant to past tours or the upcoming tour.
It just makes it easier for the people coming here to discuss Tool tours in the thread specified for that purpose.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Anyway, back to relevant topics... I just read on theprp.com that Tool has asked "Tweak Bird" to open for them on this tour. Anyone familiar with them? Im listening to them on Myspace right now and I am sorely disappointed. Another Trans Am type of selection for Tool once again. Oh well. Who goes to a Tool show for the opener anyway?
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I have this really weird feeling the festival shows will have the same set list as the 10,000 days tour with the absence of Wings/10,000 days. With nothing taking its place.

Was hoping for BMH as well, but we got the Tweak Bird. Just listened to a bit of their stuff. It's not Melt Banana horrible, and pretty decent sound for a 2 man band. As usual, you can forget any lyrical content, its not there.

Agreed. I am listening to a little bit of their stuff and it seems as though they won't bring my ears to the brink of bleeding like Melt Banana did. What a terrible experience that was, for me anyway.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Saw Tweak Bird open for Big Business in May. I'm kind of surprised by the choice, but I'll definitely be interested to see how they do in the larger venues. The drummer in particular looked messed up on something and seemed to freak out a bit when he was front and center singing during one of Big Business' songs. This was at a 250 person capacity venue so we could be in for a treat when he's in front of 10k, hah.
Musically they were pretty entertaining, but I'll be the first to admit I'm open-minded to just about anything live as long as it's not really god awful. Fans of metal and little else will hate it though I'm sure, hah. I like them more than Trans Am if that helps anyone sleep better tonight, hah.
One benefit for those of us on the floor...we'll probably have open space to pick our spots this way.
