I'd be satisfied if Tool had put Wings/10,000 Days on a promo EP, destroyed the rest of the album, canceled the tour and broke up.
Yes, I really really like that song.

Because they think they're serving as some kind of public service announcement for the community.

I bought my copy the second it came out, but I was sort of hesitant to play it right away. I had been waiting for so long to hear it, and when I finally had the chance to I was somewhat afraid that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. But then I took my time to listen to the album and it absolutely overwhelmed me.
I've been listening to it several times a day now for over a week, and I'm still not even close to getting tired of it.
The compositions of the songs are just genius. I liked it the first time I heard it, and I'm adoring it now. The music just really grew on me.
Sometimes it's a certain lyric that gives me the shivers, and the next time the sound of the guitar gives me an instant eargasm. This might be my favourite album of them so far..

Just as with Aenima and Lateralus, it's taking my brain awhile to catch up with Tool. I love what I can even get a handle on right now. For example, I wasn't sure about Lost Keys and Rosetta Stoned at first, but now I'm totally into them. (on a side note, I'm laughing to myself because I just thought about my friend who, when we first discussed the track listing when it came out, and in expressing his belief that the tracklist was a decoy/hoax, said "I mean 'Rosetta Stoned', come on." We've had a good laugh about it since then.) I'm still working through the rest of the album.

Re: Are you satisfied with 10,000 days?

I quite like this album, but its seriously dented my estimation of Tool.
IMO its really sub-standard.

Very pleased with the album. It sounds like nothing else I've heard in the last five years. And a BIG switch from Lateralus on top of that fact.
