I know its not a big deal but I wanna know if anyone knows what the sound is and what type of instrument is used to create a sound like this. It is really small at 3:16 I love it for some odd reason. It gets me so angry but Dont ask me why. Can anyone explain what it is? The sound happens i think 3 times during Triad. Please discuss.
Cheers.

Reason: misspelled word
Other than Maynard screaming and a couple of bass notes, I have no idea what you're talking about.. other than a slight rhythym change.
Listen closer to it at exactly 3:16. I am not a musician by any means I just know what good music is. I dont know what the sound is. its almost like a high-pitch poping sound. if you can not hear it well then there is something wrong with me i guess haha but its there i hear it everyday.

Danny hitting something. It's a percussion thing. Not sure what exactly though.
little things that TOOL does is so fu*kin kool and i never thought it was a scream of such but one of my friends thought so. Triad is AWESOOMMMEE!. peace
There's a ton of little percussion things Danny throws into the songs to add ambiance. The bongo (maybe tabla, not sure) under Eulogy during the intro. Tabla under the intro bass riff in The Pot. The big Gong in Jambi. Uses some different pieces in Stinkfist. Danny rules.
You mean the "PAAHH" thingy? To me, it sounds like Maynard yelling someting (quite distorted tbh) instead of drum pads or any other instruments whatsoever.
There are so many things going on in this track. Seems like every time I listen to it, I hear something I never heard or noticed before. I hear the aforementioned, "WOOO" at least three times in the song. I notice while listening to this song, I almost go into a trance, rocking back and forth getting into the rhythm and the drums. When I saw Tool at Hershey back in 2001, I definitely felt like I was in a trance/dreamlike state during Disposition/Reflection. I know it sounds so corny/cheesy/cliche to say someones music "moves you", but I no music/band has ever had the effect that Tool's music has on me. Sorry for going off on a tangent, I can't help myself sometimes.
