I belive 46 and 2 is death and birth numerogicly in hebrew 46 is deathמות and 2 is... the begining as a hermetic kabbalist thats my interpretation also as stated before the shadow is a part of your mind/soul maynard tends to write alot of things along the lines of some sort of estorisism which is probably why everything is so mystic in the first place I'm pretty sure he's some kind of magician/mystic be it a kabbalist or some other esoteric tradition, I do belive at least that danny carreys dad is a freemason which they get alot of thier roots and traditions from the goldendawn and other esoteric societies
