lol, I think it refers to the culturally-defined gender-type "female". The idealization of "woman" and the psychosematic provocation of such imagery. There is nothing wrong with women. It is the mental faculty typical of women conforming to normative gender-typing. The bleeding-heart, emotionally reactive, thoughtlessness typical of literary representations of woman and the brute tendency for real women to conform to the paradigm.
Of course... a man could easily be as a woman in this same context. However, historical portrayal of man and male gender-type is rational, deliberate and conscious.
