I'm sorry, iota pisses me off. I accept the possibility of "eye on" because Maynard did this in another lyric, someone said.

I'm listening to live bootleg from Seattle......there's 100% for certain an "ooh" sounds. Perhaps it's just his pronunciation of the word "on". Either way, it's pointless to debate.

My point in number 1 was in regard to the statements in some posts that implied that you could determine what the lyrics were by questioning whether the proposed lyric was a grammatically correct sentence (i.e., if the proposed lyric is grammatically incorrect, it can't be what Maynard says). So, my post was supposed to make that point.

Number two was supposed to be a joke and a commentary about the absurdity of some of the ongoing debate, and the manner of that debate, about the lyrics.

Wow, your genius must amaze your entire ant farm... I was saying that "I own the TV" grammatically implies that there is only one TV, where as "Eye on the TV" would reference what is on the tube, which is the subject matter for the whole damn song... maybe you should have your mom proofread your threads next time.

To live in the present moment and to be truly awake as opposed to dead on the inside is our collective aim but we just don't know it. Maynard is observing the participants ( us ) and expressing beautifully crafted lyrics on humanities struggle.
People are obsessed with the suffering and demise of others and the tv serves as this conduit beaming in images to feed our spiritual sickness. Listen to what he's saying if you can and free youselves and any willing fellow man.
