the trio on the vinyl...

well on the back of the CD, DRT are connected, but today i was listening to the vinyl, and i noticed that Reflection, Triad, and Faaip De Oiad are connected.

i wonder what the deal is with this

Re: the trio on the vinyl...

i thought it was D/R/T that were originally one song, not R/T/FDO.

That is perplexing in an interesting sort of way. Maybe you have a botched pressing

Re: the trio on the vinyl...

Doubtful that its a misprint. i just checked my copy of the vinyl and it is the same way. Another difference in the vinyl is the tack order being

Side A
the grudge
eon blue apocalypse
the patient
mantra

Side B
schism
parabol
parabola
*Disposition

Side c
Ticks & Leeches
Lateralus

Side D
reflection
triad
faaip de oiad

if someone could tell me if "this" is the same as their copy, it would be much appreciated.

Re: the trio on the vinyl...

yep, that's how everyone's is. they moved Disposition, presumably so it would fit in the format of vinyl.

i guess the arrangement of Disposition and the linking of R/T/FDO might be linked somehow.

Re: the trio on the vinyl...

Personally, I think it'd be quite strange hearing "Ticks and Leeches" right after "Disposition", but I guess that's just me.

Re: the trio on the vinyl...

Simple, just play side D, A, C, B--D, A, C, B, ...and so on. That is, if you have the entire evening to devote to doing so. Or jump right into B--D, A, C, ...since ya like the DRT soo much...

Peace. W/ envy (vinyless :(

Until somewhat recently, I never even noticed the whacky drumming all throughout Faaip. It does add a little "songish" quality to the track, but Triad and Faaip are connected already in that, Triad has the silence before Faaip...

Funny, when played in one of my cheap new stereos, it skips the blank space automatically. Fucker. Stop that shit, stupid "pre-set" not E.Q.-havin junk.

XO.

You don't remember correctly, because I'm 100% sure that everyone's vinyl has the same tracklist.

Eh, the only use of the vinyl is to look at it. It sounds like crap in a record player. It's a picture disc, it's not meant to be played. You can actually HEAR the picture as the needle comes around, goes onto it, increases the surface noise, and go off it. It's really annoying.

Re: the trio on the vinyl...

they had to move the tracks around so that they would all fit onto the 2 disks... this has been discussed before on here somewhere, with a break down of track lengths and so on... it made sense
