I'ts sad to see that people have to go through a life-threatening to the point where they actually almost die to realize what a wonderful thing life is. I say that as generally as possible, I don't mean to offend.
I've never experienced anything like that. I try to squeeze every ounce of joy out of life that I can, but in the end I just realize that it causes anxiety, a feeling that life is too short, and that causes a loss of appreciation for life. its very circular....but thats another story, another thread...

I was trying to point out that most of our lives are spent searching for some type of acceptance. Not all of us are enlightened at birth. We have to experience failure and grief to find life in the meantime. I still waste time at this point in my life, but I have that reminder lingering back there. Not everyone needs that sort of motivation, but I do.

drugs don't have to be life ruining -- well, the REALLY bad ones do.... but my philosophy in life is this:
Experience all there is to experience. Only then have you really lived.
To live, with no boundries set is kinda scary . I've been there and didnt like it one bit.

Take life one step at a time. get comfortable...try somethign new....dont like it? at least you know now. live comfortably for a while...try something new...
don't live without indulging every last one of your fantasies at least once.
save the really serious drugs and stunts for when you're really old when you dont have much life left to live. If I ever make it to 80 I'll doo some radical things. If I've lived your life...then live some more.

at 30 I want to see all the things the world has to offer -- stone henge, the pyramids, the statues of easter island...etc...I'll save the bermuda triangle for last :-D. can't imagien much fun there unless I die hehe
at 40 years I'll try sky diving. -- I'm deathly afraid of heights.
over 50 I want to have relations with women half my age.
at 80 years I'll try the most deadly drugs -- heroin is the only one that comes to mind.
