I was reading Carl Jung's "Synchronicity" yesterday and ran across a mention of the Triad. He defines it as Causality, Space, and Time. There are also a couple other triads that corespond to this:
Father, Son, Holy Ghost
Omnipotence, Omnipresence, and Omniscience
I questioned how consciousness/spirit is related to time, but then I read that time *as a concept* is entirely a function of the human consciousness -- that if you were to ask a cat "What time is it?" she would respond with "What do you mean--the time is NOW."
awesome. think about how omnipotence/presence/science relates to each song in the triad. innaresting.
a lama would probably give you the same answer about TIME

The first item is the individuating item. This is how a Being separates it's self from the universe. The second item is the specifying item. This is how the Being specifies what it is perceiving. The third item is the mediating item, and is where action takes place.
Along those lines, Maynard's Triad would be:
Self/Disposition/Reflection
If one 'reflects' on one's 'disposition' (disposition=personality, which is transient like...the weather), then one will come to one's 'Self' (that which is not transient--absolute)
There are all sorts of cool properties to triads. If a Being increases one, then the others increase as well--the same for a decrease.
TIME ... the idea of having a dimension that moves only linearly and only in one direction, that just doesn't seem right. I like the quote about the cat, is that from your head or Jung's?
almost forgot, too:
Kether / Chokmah / Binah !!
though I guess you already mentioned it above =)

There's also a thing called the Emotional Triad... I'm not sure what it is but I think it's happiness anger and sadness or love anger and happiness... I think each of the three songs relfects a different mood?
I can definately see the connection between Casuality, Space, and Time and the music aspect of D/R/T.
Disposition is very laid back, and casual. It doesn't forcefeed you it's message and has sort of a humble innocence to it.
Reflection is very spaced out, and it takes it's time, which is why it's 12 minutes long. It spaces you out, and further relaxes you after being relaxed by Disposition.
And Triad seems to be the most mathematical of the 3. It's musically precise and swift. It continues at a steady pace, kind of like time (although, you can argue that time fluxuations exist within the human mind, which is true, our perception of time changes depending on what we do.)

Shit...Time is Now....that's a phrase I came up with during my first acid trip... And it's so true, because what time do we all really have but the time which is right Now??

But hat fits quite good. Because the lyrics are "watch the weather change". which makes this really interesting.
Before you are able to understand that causalty exists you have to notice a kind of change(or be able to connect an action to a reaction). for example you flick the switch an the lights go on.
the problem with the weather is, it just isn´t that easy to see the source where the change begins. so you actually can´t connect a causality to weather change.
this might be where the "mention this to me" part comes in. tell me why the weather changes.
By the way (I´m not to sure about this, it´s been a while since I read this stuff) doesn´t Schoppenhauer say, that causality is something that every human is able to understand without learning it. (bad english, but I don´t know if the word "a priori" exists in english)
...so causality would then be a (human)disposition.
And I´ve got a question: Why would the song triad be called triad? shouldn´t there be another name for it and then all three songs would be the triad of disposition/reflection/??? .. maybe I´m just not getting the meaning. sorry for that.
