Yes.
Well, now that I think of it...Undertow was mapped out and some of it made during the Opiate times, but its true that the former is definately in the Opiate selftitled style rather than short anger pieces.
Also, with the logic that's its literally the last piece that makes the difference, then wouldn't all of Aenima sound like Disgustipated? Which it doesn't, of course...
Its hard to consider it a hidden track when its not truely "hidden", so don't gimme that logic. It says track 10: Disgustiped on the back of the Undertow package, therefore NOT hidden. Faaip de Oiad isn't a hidden track either, yet another Disgustipated-esque last song layout.
I see that its true that Third Eye influenced Lateralus, but honestly, a whole cd of bullshit on "'Teleincision'"? Do you WANT that? (wishful thinking, I think not)
I think it would be interesting if they mixed the heavy of Undertow and the spirituality/depth/layering/sound/style of Lateralus, with something new all its own.
I'd be a happy camper, no?
I just they don't throw in something from the Opiate days that makes a song fitting farfetched...Ticks and Leeches on Lat. could have fit perfectly with Undertow; too long for Opiate itself.

Maybe I'm weird but I consider the last track on an album to be the last one with instuments, vocals, rhythm (Flood, Third Eye, Triad).....pretty much everything that makes a song a song. I don't think many people consider Disgustipated and Faaip de Oiad to be the last songs on the album, and thinking that those 2 would be the sound for next album is just stupid. So if you use your brain and realize that the last song on each album seems to show the direction of the next album, Triad could be the sickeningly heavy that is being hinted at.

I heard a rumor that they had a lot of shit finished but Maynard scrapped the entire thing so they had to start over. A friend of mine heard this from a customer while he was working so this could be completely false and it doesn't entirely fit with the "all of this stalling is apparently adam jone's fault" of this rumor report.
Anyone else hear anything like this?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that all the members of Tool were killed by rabid donkeys four months ago on their annual orange picking vacation.
Their record company subsequently decided to replace them with cheap Mexican look-alikes so that they could add their own music to the almost finished album that Tool left behind. Upon its release the Mexican Tool look-alikes will announce that they are disbanding to pursue various careers in porn, bartending and professional wrestling and no one will be the wiser.
Also the album will be called El Teleincision and will be a mix of heavy brooding prog metal and light hearted traditional Mexican ballads, with a few tequila inspired sing alongs thrown in for good measure.

Nah, the thing about the true last tracks, I was just trying to make a point.
Yes, I know that the ppl that are like OMFG! Its gonna be like Fraip de Oiad are
a) joking
b) dumb
or c) both
But its still very annoying...lol.
I think that as an influence, it would be D/R/T as a whole, considering Triad by itself does not have lyrics. If it was just a musical album that axed poor lil Maynard, then it would just be Triad. I like Maynard though, don't you guys? Do you really wanna see the man go? Do you? :(

I've heard lots of talk about that 18 minute song with the rumored initials of LK. Other than that, I've not heard much on the new album.
Either way, 18 minute songs are awesome.
Blair, that bastard. If he's been making all of this stuff up, I may have to hunt him down, kill him, and steal his identity so that I can make up rumors about Tool.

The original post said that the man who posted this was auditioning with Paul for the guitar spot. Well, Feersum Ennjin got a bassist, with Paul on guitar. If he lied about it being guitar, he could've lied about the whole thing.

Call me deaf, but where the hell is the vocals on Triad? Speaking of which, I'm glad MJK didn't sing to Triad or am I just deaf?

I don't think that even if maynard wanted to scrap the whole project, that the rest of the band would let him.

fire engine, im pretty sure the vocals on triad, the wierd screamy droany sounds, are made by synthesiers and shit, its just playback, its not maynard singing it, he definetly doesnt make the noise through a microphone when they play it live.

yeah, just like the led zeppelin "Zoso" album....wait.....
if it is heavier, i doubt it will be an anger of maynard saying "im sick of this and i hate that" sort of thing, it will probably be more emotional deep anger since his mom died fairly recently giving him plenty of material to write about. i may be completely off, but its just an idea to throw out there.
