"It may not be exactly what you are expecting, but it is exactly what you are waiting for."
People paid to review albums usually can't even finish with half that closure, well done.

Kabir, can't you really remember anything about intension???
Andy King wrote something about 'sea shore meets ironworks'. Does that helps your memory?

It said "mobile listening booth", but that got changed to "relocatable listening booth".
Why?
I don't know.
The former implies car, the latter implies.. I dunno what.
Anyway, thanks a lot, Kabir. Best thing we've read so far, we can all agree on that, right?

That certainly crossed my mind too. There was little to no criticism of it. Maybe it was just that good for him but I somehow doubt it.

On the other hand, the Ænima preview had plenty of negative stuff...

re that edit, i just wanted to be clear on what i was and what i was not saying.
i'm sorry to be vague, but it's not really up to me.
i don't remember tracks 2 or 9. my mind was blown from tracks 1 and 8.
i'm not beholden to anyone here. it's a stupid suggestion that i'm full of praise for any reason other than i liked it. my review of aenima, from 96, was not all positive...

Fan-Fricken-Tastic!! I love the path they seem to be on. If the last two albums, and now this review, are any indication, this will be another album to add to the short-list of 'Albums you can lose yourself in'. Personally, I am starved for these kinds of cd's. So far I've got the '70's Floyd albums, a couple of Radiohead albums (OK Computer and Kid A), Aenima, Lateralus, and now this. I guess it's a good thing there's not that many? If I were to listen to all of them in a row, I may not ever come back.

Understood, I can see how you might be forbidden from mentioning the TRAILER/CARAVAN which you listened to the album in.
... Just kidding!
I'll stop now.
Anyway, that review actually exceeded my expectations, for what it's worth.

"At least we broke the record for simultaneous users on the forums."
Not to stray too far off topic but I was curious as to what caused the previous mid-05 record of 570ish. Did anything happen around that time or was it just a random surge?
I'm surprised it took this long to break that.

I'm not too concerned about what "10,000 Days" actually refers to. But Kabir's thoughts on The Pot were interesting... And "suits its subject matter"? Funny thing to say considering there's like ten thousand threads on here discussing the many various things "The Pot" could refer to.

As soon as I read that line, all I could think of was Kabir and whoever sitting in a portaloo.
As for "The Pot", given we've been told about 'Who are you to wave your finger?' I'd imagine it deals with the 'pot calling the kettle black' theme.
However, I'm not one for speculating, I'll be happy to do that, after I've heard it.

By Pink Floyd, do you mean something along the lines of Dark Side of the Moon or Animals?

Well, I'd assume from Kabir's comment of The Pot conjuring a similar feel as Hooker with a Penis, and the comment from either an interview or review (I can't remember for sure) that The Pot somehow refers to the 'Pot calling the kettle black' saying, that it's some sort of rant directly aimed at some poor unfortunate soul (or souls).
* My heart goes out to the upright catatonic that inspired Hooker with a Penis whenever I hear it. I said many things before my awakening that could have spawned a similar song. In fact, I've seen quite a few posts in this thread alone that could inspire a similar song.
Kabir, when are we going to hear your HWAP/The Pot rant song as a reply to some of the posters here over the past few hours?

Was it Andy King that said "The Pot" was the catchiest song they've ever written? I can't wait to hear this album.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I just don't think any songs will be directly political. I'm not sure though. We'll see in a couple weeks.
