Re: Photo of the Day
I went in to the cricket on friday and got a photo of the sunset on my phone. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is huge, it holds 90,000+ people, although on friday there were only ~32,000.
The MCG
New Zealand is the shit.
My favourite shot from my NZ trip in '04.

Re: Photo of the Day
okay here's more of the eye photography that im starting...
the last two are by far my favorite.
^look at the pupil
this last pic actually is my pupil with the reflection of me taking the picture in it.
all of these are my eyes, which makes it a bit more difficult to take quality pictures; i used mirrors to see what i was taking, etc.
can anyone give me any tips on how to reduce reflection in the eye when im taking it? i would assume it has to do with my lighting.
also, anyone have any ideas for pics? make up (lol art) ideas? lighting?
this is what i mean by make up ideas:

Cheers man, that's definitely similar, same angles and all. Cool Photo.

a788,
I really like these ones:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...lectioncam.jpg
The second one especially. It's trippy how the eye of the camera is in your eye. I'm seeing what you saw when you took the photo, as well as the eye that you 'used' to see it. Crazy.

Shooting eyes is like shooting glass or chrome it terms of lighting. Everything that produces or reflects light will show up in your eye. Try reading up about shooting glass and chrome. Also shooting in front of a mirror is probably not the best.

Re: Photo of the Day
Have the lights close to your face, in front of the camera. If no light is hitting the camera itself, it won't reflect much in your glossy eye. Picture a studio, dark everywhere except where the lights are pointing on the subject. If the camera is back a little and out of the light range, your'e good but you have to use a zoom. Probably will require someone else shooting the picture.
Also, place the lights to the side/front, not at 90 degree angles.
Nice shots though! I likes.

you could also work with a self timer if you don't want someone else taking the shots.
great work btw. i really like the high contrast ones and the second to last one with the camera in your pupil.

Sure, I use a
Canon 350D with the standard 18-55mm lense. I have lots of fun messing around with it.

Re: Photo of the Day
I just got my camera a couple days ago, so I'm still not completely familiar with it (I have no experience at all with cameras). It's just a Canon Powershot sd600, so it's nothing special. These are just a few pics I took to kind of familiarize myself with the camera:

by the way that means nothing. there is no clear definition of what lomography is, other than an obviously cool internet speak that sells cameras that do photoshopesque things OR SOMETHING

it just means that you use cheap holgas and cameras like them to take snapshots. you don't have to use the special effect cameras.
