Midday Mist

In the stillness of the morning glow
Morning coffee is savored slow
Yesterday is long gone
Yes, this we know
What will happen tomorrow?
We don’t know

Push the quiet fear aside
It’s time to come out of this hiding place
He sees the outline of her shimmering face
In the obscure rain slipping down the glass
Hinting that this love will last
We can take it slow babe, not too fast

Around the corner
Looking down the street
Rising up I can feel the heat
Rising up from the asphalt street
Is her ghostly silhouette
Shimmering, twirling and twisting

Heat waves hugging the midday mist
Oh to give you just one more kiss
I close my eyes and make a wish
Heat waves hugging the midday mist
Oh to give you just one more kiss
Close your eyes and make a wish

I’ll swim back to you
Like a spawning fish
Pick a spot and
I’ll plant a kiss
It’s your love
I dearly miss

I’ll write you beautiful songs everyday
I’ll make you smile in every way
I’ll lift you up when you’re feeling down
I’ll wash your feet, We can walk downtown
Come along I’ll sing to you
Come along and sing with me

Come along and sing with me
Sing with me
I’ll sing to you
I’ll sing to you
Sing with you
Sing with you
