Now that A Perfect Circle have concluded their tour I hope Maynard becomes more involved with the writing process. If there are signs that he is with band then that means that the music might be close and he just needs to put his two cents in then finalize the lyrics...come on boys!!

Well I see it happening one of two ways:
1) Maynardo F's off to his winyard for the grape harvest or whatever, resulting in an October 2012 release
2) Maynard re-joins the lads and Tool hit the studio for a May 2012 release

It's pretty much confirmed already that scenario 1 will be happening. Wine Harvest starts shortly, and Puscifer will be releasing an album and probably touring in October.
Can't see Tool hitting the studio this year...

lol, dude it's a blatant rip-off of a francis scott key poem! (which - in looking it up on wiki here - was actually a rip-off of some british pop song ...lmao!). wait, was -that- the joke? /hollywood's squares response...
in his defense, i'm willing to bet many of those in attendance had never heard such a shitty tune carried out in such a badass way. think about how well you know that ...god ...damned ...star-spangled banner. at any event, or within your head, how well do you know it? is it something akin to any ol' mother goose tune, melodic intervals easily discernible, translated, done to a tee on the fly?
my immediate crackpot theory is that it is that familiar - especially to all those patriotic nationalists. familiar enough for anyone (even close to tone-deaf) to understand. all that wavy-gravy shit jones was doing with the overtone series there was like taking your expectations of the song by the guitar and forcing you to fall, to break from what you knew of it before ...forcing you to become patient, to listen more closely/actively, to feel it, and as a more genuine gesture of what it means to be here, right now ...in america. ??/?
you don't have to be insulted or even baffled by it. but "peace" to you

they are all doing projects that express things that they dont want to be expressed in the next album. doing it all to make sure the next album is original me thinks

maybe i have to listen to it a bit closer...its true: the general public is not aware of jones`sound...maybe my ears cannot tell, after years of listening to tool..
i hope the next output is going to be great! i am quite sure it will be (=
