I think a lot of people are making the mistake of attaching
the lyrics (Maynard) to the images (Adam and others) in TOOL videos.
While the themes may be the same, I don't think that the feelings may be identical......remember that Adam can't read Maynard's mind....( I hope! ....maybe hope not!))
TOOL videos are Adam's own "opinon page".
Anyway, back to the "Prison sex" video......
I always found this video to be the most profound of any of their videos. The stop-motion animation is amatuerish, (in the best possible way) and the feeling of the video is so child-like and pure(in it's execution and production).....which is why this video is so disturbing, considering the themes involved.
We all know what the video is about...no news here, but I think it's interesting to view the video knowing that it's Adam's take on what Maynard is singing.
Maybe Adam has some skeletons in the old closet as well.
Or how much communication went on between Maynard and Adam when they made the video. -Just a thought.
I think your right, it is good to look at the 2 difrent art forms, difrently. Just like books that get made in to movies. We do need to rember that they are related and I'm sure that Adem and MJK work together on the videos.
