Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

Today there were several tickets posted on ebay for states throughout the area of the US tool hasn't cover since the summer tour. All by a 99% positive feedback powerseller. They were up for most of the afternoon and disappeared a little while ago. The dates were really strange, some were in July and October, but it seems strange that a powerseller would put up 7-8 groups of tickets on ebay just to fuck with people. And none of the tickets matched up with the Missoula or San Antonio shows that were mentioned in the weird newsletter either.

Funny that you'd mentioned that, I originally had it as 'Blair Junior' and decided that it looked too much like a strange melding of both of your names so I went with the "Jr." instead. I guess that may be a little too similar as well...no insult intended mi amigo, lo siento.

"Supposed" should be replaced with "assumed".
Although some people interpreted the original newsletter to say that, it did not actually announce such a thing.

Something I've been pondering is that since that newsletter took place in some kind of alternate universe, January 17 and December 14 are both 17 days from the turn of the year.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

what were yall's favorite performance from the shows you all saw. I saw pushit at baton rouge LA, and that was something I will never forget. Maynard sang with all he had that night, Danny and Justin rocked out of course, and Adam even, if I saw correctly, MOVED during that song! I saw them at Southaven Mississippi in May and they really put on a show as well. We got Right in Two and Aenima as an encore which was unexpected, but very kick ass. Stinkfist that night was very good too. Maynard added a few extra full power screams during the song that I was not expecting seeing as how every review of concerts prior to that i read said he seemed to be conserving his voice.

This past year was the first time i got to see tool and I have never witnessed a more cohesive band on stage. Really, really good.

But back to my original question: What were yall's favorite performance of the shows you attended?

Also, what were your personal favorite opening bands you saw. I got to see Kinski and Trans Am, and i have to say Kinski owned as far as openers. No singer just instruMENTAL music that was very Tool-ish. Very cool.

Wings 1 and 2 at southaven was very powerful. They had just finished Jambi i think and everyone rocked out then wings began and EVERYONE (there were seating chairs on the floor where i was at) sat down and was very reverant. Held lighters up, no one sang along, no one yelled, moshed, or anything. It was the most powerful performance of that song i saw all tour. Chillbump type experience man.

opiate at the gorge was sick and then right in two at the new york city center was very cool since thats the only time i saw that song. debut of wings for me was in billings and that was epic. all 8 this past 2 years were amazing though, couldnt ask for anything more. except more shows.....

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)

All in all, I thought the 10,000 Days shows were good, not great. The mini-tour show at the Tower in Philly was probably my favorite, mainly because of all the anticipation leading up to seeing TOOL at such a small place, didn't know the setlist ahead of time, and the people around me were as excited as I was to see the show.
For me, the last (fall) leg of the 2002 Lateralus tour was when TOOL was hitting on all cylinders. Curtain dropping at the start of The Grudge... Alex Grey's prints unravelling during D/R/T... the star of Babylon over DC's kit... Cold & Ugly... H. (with the change during "I don't mind...") Ahh, those were the days.
