i will buy the album the very fucking day it comes out, and even though i have heard the contents, it will be very special to have that virgin disc inserted into the player, in all it's glory. and just feast on the artwork and think about the whole plethora in a whole new way.

all my friends (who love this band beyond anything else) who i gave a copy to i made swear that they will buy it THE DAY that it comes out. i also added that if they still listened to the xerox copy i made them, i would break it over their heads. i am unable to make effective curses to set punishment on automatic, so this will have to do.

Great album.

I agree, Soulslot is an asshole. Im gonnna buy at least 80 albums cuz it is just that good.

Na, in seriousness, youre right. But things arent always as they seem. Petty, ill own up to that, but there was some backround inspiration behind that comment, it wasnt entirely arbitrary, as it were. I vow to be a better person, if not a better asshole..

I've bought my copy. I heard "Vicarious," and was planning not to download. I wanted to wait. I really did. But a friend of mine popped it in his car stereo tonight, and handed me a copy.

I tried holding out. And, all I have to say is, I wish I had -- it's an amazing experience.

I'll buy mine, not like Tool has to worry about sales.
It's the 'ball-less soul-less suckers of Satan's cock' that need to be worried about the Internet destroying their sales. MP3's sound like crap. But when your music is shit to begin with, who'll notice the difference.

Tool has been a weapon of awakening for me. Not solely their music, but the references it spews off to apply such meaning and values to our lives. For that I'm grateful, for that I'll hold on and wait two more weeks. Their music is much more to me than sound, it's a testament to living and enjoying life. To questioning it. To hating it and every other emotion we may feel while under the influence of it and when we're seperated from it. Just like art is healing, so is music, and their's is a prime example of that.

Come May 2nd, I'll buy two copies. Not just because of the appreciation I want them to receive money wise, as that is sincerely not on the top of their list nor mine but because I want to preserve the memory of it forever. Just as my dad with his Zeppelin albums, I may with Tool's. Because I believe that the artistic input they put into their work is magnificent, it should be treated in an equal sense when it is put out here for us. So, no I'm not going to download it.
Fuckin Amen! Could not have put it better myself.

This one will be purchased by me and every one of my friends who burned a copy from my computer. In fact, my own personal "street team" skills have probably resulted in at least 15 certain sales of this album. I feel closer to GOD after having heard this album.

All of you people buying multiple copies should save some for the rest of us. I will be buying one copy becuase I would like the artwork and quality of sound that comes with the physical CD. I don't want to get downtown and find out that the CD's are gone because a bunch of fools couldn't wait to buy up multiple copies for themselves. That would be really lame.
Also, and I'm sure people have mentioned this before, some of you guys think you're helping the band (as if they need any financial help anyway?) by buying 5 god damn copies. You are misunderstanding the situation. There's a ton of causes that could put to use your hard earned cash other than buying several copies of the same CD, especially when the overwhelming majority of the profits go to the store and record company.

Re: A show of support.

I have avoided not only downloading the album, but even hearing Vicarious on the radio or otherwise. I want to walk into a store, buy the album in fresh new packaging, take it home, place it in my CD player, crank the volume, and savor the totally fresh experience.

I don't think it will be a disappointment for me if it doesn't top Lateralus, because IMO I just don't know if anything could...Lateralus has touched me deeply in indescribable ways...

Hell, it could be my least favorite Tool album and STILL be better than 99% of what's out there. ;)

The sense of anticipation leaves me giddy nonetheless.

Im deffinately buying this album.
A. I want all of the tool albums in retail format,
and
B. About 90% of a song is removed when you turn it into an MP3 at 128 kbps. And I want to whole thing so when we find weird whispering or something, i can run it through some software and hear it really well. You know somthing's in there somewhere.

I have already pre-ordered the album and am planning to buy it at a store the day it comes out just in case delivery time is too slow. I have heard it and i've seen the artwork as well. I tried not to but you put cheese in front of a hungry rat it's gonna eat.

I WILL DEFINITELY buy the album.

There are a handful of bands and artists who, I have to admit, have won my trust/loyalty, and can fully expect me to buy their new albums on release day. Tool is at the top of that list.

I remember being on acid, years ago, and talking about the album Aenima for HOURS and hours, about how amazing it was, and about how INSANE it was that the album only cost about $15. We all swore that we would pay well over $100 for an album that has brought us so much enjoyment.
