"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."
Revolver has a short interview with Maynard on it’s site, mainly focusing on Puscifer and their recent Love And Rockets cover. He also briefly talks about touring plans:
How do you feel Puscifer’s live component worked out earlier this year? Will you be touring?
"We are planning a “Sherman’s March to the Sea, Redux, (Version 1). It starts on the West Coast right before Halloween and goes to December 5. Lather, rinse, repeat in March 2010, but more towards the East Coast."
I know that some vocalists don’t like to preform during the coldest months of winter.
Or, (this is purely speculation) one might guess that a planned two month break could mean that Tool is scheduled to be in the studio…

I bet is has to do more with the wine making process than the cold weather...just a guess. Or maybe it's just the availabilty of Mila!

I'm just realizing how "feel goody" Pomona was. Really, quite an interesting show feel-wise. Even though the set lists have been the same every time I've seen them sans the middle sub-out song (The Pot + Sober, Right in Two, 10,000 Days, Flood...Holiday in Cambodia and THANK YOU for Aenema being back for the light show alone), each show has been completely unique.
Although I gotta say, as a musician, 46&2, Schism, and Stinkfist (although fucking rapage live) have got to be getting a bit "worn out" to play. I really wonder why they aren't playing The Pot, Maynard's voice sounded a-mazing and full of life at Epicenter. Must be waiting on that video to fit into the production...
I still think it'd be an awesome opener. A-capella and then BAM! Tool.
Yeah can't beat The Grudge as opener. Those who saw Lateralus tour know what i'm talking bout.
hell yeah, the 2002 shows were the pinnacle of live music shows for me.The Grudge,The Patient,Third Eye,H,Flood,Parabol(A)....can't beat those performaces

My first Tool show was opened with The Grudge. My ass was kicked, and still hasn't recovered.
The only opener that I've seen that has come close was the Lost Keys/Rosetta they did at Dallas in May 06.
Interesting how the two differed in their approach...The Grudge is a smack to the head while Lost Keys builds until Rosetta Stoned kicks in and does the job. Kind of like the difference between "Man From The South" and the final scene from "Four Rooms"....

Yeah my ass was kicked by The Grudge, saw them open with that in 2001 & 2002, it was unreal. My mates Tool cover band still open all their shows with The Grudge & it sure gets people going.
Four rooms is a pretty cool movie, i like the scene where he chops off his finger ahahaha

My first show opened with Intolerance....ok now I'm just bragging.

For real. I wonder why there isn't a "general tool talk" section to this forum. You know, not specific to previous albums or past and upcoming shows. This thread seems to just turn into that most of the time.

Cool thanks Runner, I'm going to check out fourtheye.net
I would like to see Puscifer live at least once and I think now would be the best time.
Lotus your avatar - do you know where that vid is from?
(I do)
Why yes I do, I saw the original P4P tour back in 94 (the only tour with Bubba Carr). And I made this avatar from the only video available on youtube that had the clown in it.
Bonus trivia for you, The Embryo: Who did Bubba Carr tour with that made him kinda famous after the P4P tour?
Without googling it of course....

Best Show Opener?
A 2,000 person venue,
First Song,
Track 15 off of Aenima: Third Eye.
Second Song: 19 minute drum solo/guitar noise w/ King Buzzo going into Sober
3rd song- Last song:
Dont remember.
Every song from Opiate/Undertow, and Aenima was played that night.

Fuck the rest.
the first tool show i ever saw was that tour. I miss the days maynard would dress up and act like a fool. Reverend maynard was hilarious. Also tenacious D opening for them was epic, back when no one knew of them.
