Unfortunately I really doubt we'll be hearing that again.
The worse part is I saw them twice in 02 before I was really into them and that song. So I didn't appreciate it nearly as much as I would now
I'm skeptical as well, D/R/T takes up a huge chunk of time in any setlist. Although if they started coming out of intermission and closing shows with that I'd go insane.

Hmm, whipped out the bootlegs this morning and ran through them.
Slightly more different then I remember, so I guess you have a point, but still roughly the same core.
You could make the argument that it's "roughly the same core" for pretty much every Tool show ever, not to mention most other bands in the world...
The sticking point for some fans though is that the "core" played on the 10,000 Days tour was tracks off 10,000 Days, which as we all know some people don't enjoy as much as their older stuff.

Still, was never happy about having to make the choice, but think I did the right thing in the end.
If you are a Pink Floyd/Waters fan then no doubt you made the right choice.
did you go on Wednesday?? damn, Dan was there too and I didn't see either of you guys. I went alone, but hey, at least I was front and center right up on the rail.

Maynard: We brought our girlfriends. *Adam plays groovy riff* So keep your eyes off of them. They're ours.
Paul: Yeah. They're our dates. Hermaphrodite blow-up dolls.

yup. I spent a lot ($225) but I felt like I got my money's worth...in the end I walked away with two posters (one of them signed), a bag, and the experience of being right up on the rail--I've never shown up early enough to do that at the Fillmore before (although when I saw Boredoms I was literally standing right behind Yoshimi). Plus I got to chat with the band members, and I even asked Maynard a really stupid question. A night I certainly won't forget, although I'm still trying to remember how the extended version of Crimes went....

Do it.
Have you ever been to Hawaii?
Jesus H. Bomb Christmas trees.
Go.
Even if Maynard sucks.
Hawaii is about as Eden-like as it gets.
Yeah, I've been to there a couple times and it is the shit. Fuck it, I'm going back.
Just checked the arena layout, pretty small so I'm going for back middle riser or loge. Should be the best for taking in all the visuals with the new stage setup.

doesn't anyone read the APC thread??
and he actually didn't ignore me, he gave it a second's thought before not answering it. Which is fine, in fairness that's about how much thought I actually put into it

You might have scurred him off hushy. We all know he dreads 2-way conversation unless it's an inquiry about a wine purchase maybe. Anyway, I've noticed that he responds best to quick gestures like a 'sup nod' or a peace symbol with the hands.

That's cool you got a meet and greet though.
I would just as soon rap with James or Josh than have a strange interlude with MJK.
But you are correct, both times I met Maynard at wine events, people who brought up Tool/APC/Puscifer were basicly nudged out of the way..
I kept the conversation to wine and had nice exchanges with him both times. (not that I know anything about wine)

Now that the tour is over I guess it doesn't matter. Back to Tool you go, Maynard, chop chop.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion
Hawai'i would be sick. Sometimes I wish they'd give more advance warning and time ahead of on-sale dates for shows, and the shows themselves. But oh well. My Vancouver show experience from this past summer is still fairly fresh.

Worthwhile I think. The band is solid.
I like wine, btw (cue Dylan comment). Happy to talk about it with Maynard if I ever get more than two seconds of his time. Josh, James, Billy and Matt were perfectly friendly during the meet/greet I attended. Maynard bounded out for a few minutes and split early. Still, he was in a good mood and.. well fuck it he's short! I'd crush him like a bug! heh Would do the meet/greet again in a heartbeat. It was worth the scratch. Picking up my framed/signed poster from it tomorrow. Will post a link for pic when ready.

I would have loved to get James Iha to sign my copy of Siamese Dream vinyl.

I saw the cuntry show and, while I can see how an outsider would be wary about it, I thought it was awesome. It was very well executed , and surprisingly hilarious. but I suppose if you don't like country music and raunchy humor then you should in fact avoid this show.
but remember, it is only one of 5 or so revolving shows. if and when they do come around, your more likely to catch one of the other more normal ones. but all the different "shows" they do are great imo.
talking to Matt McJunkins and hearing him play at APC made me a lot more interested in checking out the band, that's for sure. Who else was in the band when you saw them?

haha, I actually don't mind. It's not my favorite but I would definitely check it out live; I've heard some of it (boots) and I dig it, I won't lie. Proof that Maynard can do anything, even my least favorite genre of music, and I'll still like it. motherfucker.

"outsider" LOL
Lets put it this way.
Have seen Puscifer 5 times.
I went to Vegas for the first ever Puscifer shows. They were all very good, but the second night was AWESOME!
On to the Nokia shows. Again near perfection. Danny played, Tim' played, we got Rocket Man and Mila.
Then to San Diego on Halloween - The Country show. I was not alone in my dislike for this, a few people walked out. Not a single friend (6) that went to the show liked it (while some didn't outright hate it.)
My point was if you go to one Puscifer show and it happens to be Country night you are getting the short end of the stick and it would really suck for that be the first one you see.
I've been around show buisness all my life and have many family members in the theater. Trust me. The Country bit should be about 15 mins, not 45 or 50. The jokes were repeated over and over and the whole thing is pretty self indulgent.
Just because one doesn't like it doesn't mean they don't "get it"...
Then again, SD might have been the first ever show like that and they might have been working out the kinks...
