Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I can pretty much guarantee that no pics/video/audio recording will be allowed. Hopefully someone will manage to pull it off though. Small venues should yield great recordings.

It would be sw33t if they were actually recording it themselves to put out an official release though. I would definitely buy that. I listen to the Phoenix 2000 show and I always wonder why it was never released for sale...

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

^ i was second from the rail for that one. Ended up directly in front of Mr. Finck. Probably the best opener > closer combo I've ever seen. Sorry, it was better than Meshuggah into Tool, imho.

worse than Tool.

(mostly because it's small venues and they have time to give everybody a good search.)

Seconded.

From my experience, Puscifer shows were far more Nazi than any of Tool's.

So, if you like hot chicks playing Parabola on drums perfectly, you will probably feel very conflicted as to weighing the benefits of a kidnapping marriage in regards to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67rsl...ayer_embedded#!

Saw this, uh... "organically" some time ago and thought about posting it but forgot due to reasons that will probably seem somewhat obvious.

There's actually a few of them from this same house, not surprisingly.

This is probably a dumb question, but do you have the MTV show that never got aired? The camera work and direction is little "artsy" but overall its pretty darn good.

You mean the concert footage that goes along with the audio? I only watched it once, a very long time ago...and then I misplaced it. Haven't seen it in a long long time.

I'd say more irritating then interesting,

Bring back Troy Van Leeuwen. Please, guys.

On a side note, Billy Corgan gave an interview with a one of the papers here in Sydney as the so called Pumpkins are in town, and in reply to a question about the band carrying on with no other founding members, he made some indignant, sneering comment about how none of the others were doing anything at all right now anyway.

... For once in my life, I wish he was right,

I finally watched that, and I'm no drummer but I wouldn't say "perfectly"---it's not like she's out of time or anything, but like 99.999% of the Tool drumming videos on Youtube, she doesn't hit all the ghost notes, and thus the full "feel" isn't there. Seems like anyone can play Tool tracks, but no one can get the full Dan-the-Octopus sound out of the kit.

Dan the Octopus sound. I can dig it. Imagine...an octopus wearing a Kobe jersey...

The thing that kinda pisses me off about it is, all the girl is, is another means of money stream for some producer whoring talent out, trying to figure out how to stretch $$$ from YouTube and the internets. The production quality and whole "image" of the girl is disconcerting. Hope she breaks away from it someday. She's obviously absurdly talented.

No need to imagine, I have seen such a beast in real life, and he measures almost six-and-a-half feet tall....

Maybe some Canadians can chime in on this...or even better, Junior himself. I was browsing Last.fm and I noticed it linked to a Youtube video of "Some Days It's Dark". So even though the audio and video quality sucked, I watched it a little, and I noticed something: did they incorporate visuals from the Prison Sex music video?? It's hard to screen shot, but just watch around 1:25...

I'm not Canadian. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I believe that footage is Chet Zar's "Toilet Training".
I think it was originally used for "Reflection" in 2001.

oh, ok. The quality was so crappy in that Youtube clip that I thought it might be a clip of that doll and those drawer thingies.

I love the Chet Zar visuals though, his work goes so well with Tool's music.

As on now, no, unfortunately. I was pretty boned on $$$ when the tickets went on-sale, so I'm hoping I might be able to scrounge one of them day of because StubHub is just absurd. Although, judging by their anti-scalper tweets and stance, I'm curious if they didn't release everything at once and are dabbling in ways to screw scalpers. Oh you beautiful avant-garde bastards. Are you lucky enough to have snagged one in that 15 second sell out?

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Alright, let's not get into a fight over which APC songs we don't like.

Cuz everyone knows Orestes is the worst song on MDN. *throws poop*
