Why not just check one of the review threads of the last tour if you really want to know...

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

Between you three (Hodge, HelenA and Hellboy {12,785 posts}), you must have killed a good many hours at work posting on this board hahaha

Shit, that's 35 posts a day over the course of a year, 3.5 a day over the course of a decade and if they average about, oh, 50 words per post 639,250 words typed, or, in essay form, a 51 page piece of Tool literature.

The question is, why do you hate Tool so much?

I'm thinking about it.

As insane as an australia trip would be, it's pretty crazy expensive to pull off from over here. Plus the dates are scattered so far apart and the cities are also far from each other. If anything, only 1 or maybe 2 cities would be realistic. Still, way too expensive methinks...

If anything, I think I'll try to make it to one of the APC tour cities.

Who hates Tool? I'm pretty sure Hodge, Helena and myself are all big fans...

Don't forget about Hawaii... In January...

I think last time they went to New Zealand/Australia they stopped for a show in Honolulu on their way down/back.

I am certainly a fan.

It has been a while since I was here and I forgot about the review section but I can see them now - it certainly is an amazing setlist. They probably won't be able to do so many at BDO.

Yeah, I used to post here a lot. :(

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I noticed something a bit interesting when I was listening to a '93 show...the info text says "Maynard's Dick (tease)" and it's clearly a Lite version of Maynard's Dick. However, more than that, it reminded me of something else, what was it...ah! The pre-Schism interlude has also been called 'Maynard's Dick (tease)' by a few tapers but I never really saw the resemblance...until now.

1993 (quiet, turn your speakers up): http://stashbox.org/1008373/Tool1993_09_06Tr02.mp3

2010 (turn your speakers back down a bit): http://stashbox.org/1008374/Tool2010-06-19t09.mp3

Essentially, the same jam as '93 with some added notes thrown in. Neat.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

I'll wait until I hear it live (presuming they play it down under) before I judge too much. On bootlegs I can't say I'm blown away by them, but I don't think they're terrible either. Also, my experience with bootlegs is that you don't really get the same feeling with vocals on them as you do live.

Adelaide is me. I'll probably do the Adelaide Big Day Out, and then one of the sideshows in Sydney or Melbourne, depending on timing, ticket availability, etc.

As far as I can tell---nope. They've played all over Europe, and they've been to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Mexico, though...

One of my dreams is to see Tool in Japan...I doubt that will ever happen though.

You simply don't have good bootlegs then.

No offense.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion

we had almost a page without a post from 200L and then he came back and put someone down about their bootlegs. bummer.

now not to get too off topic here.... great to see tool going to australia because even though there is no way in hell ill be going to a show there its nice to know that you guys might be able to see the setlist(s) we got here in the states. now if they will just go to the east coast with the 2010 setlist(s) we could all be happy except for you smelly european types ;)

Random question: does anybody here happen to know HuntingtonSt? I'm sure almost all of you know of him, but I'm curious if anybody has actually met him or even chatted with him directly online. Does anybody think he has a direct connection to the band?
