Dawn...
and I'm roused by the beckon of soft light.
Yet you slumber on amidst an ocean of warm cotton
your form spilled on my canvas
tangled in sheets and covers
lost underneath its sanctuary
still floating in your dreams.
I reflect on yesterday's parting
I embrace the promise of this only day
I'm humbled by its gift, its fleeting visit
I arise in the quiet,
and step out to write another page.
