Great show, pissed they didn't include Aenema, but other than that excellent. Only things Maynard said all night was in between Jambi and Stinkfist which he said, "Get ready to have a wet vagina, government approved."In addition, he asked for no flashphotography during Wings. Danny and Justin were really into it. Overall, I would say it would be the 2nd best concert I've been to, behind NIN/QOTSA just because of the lack of Aenema. Oh yeah, and to the above, I'm pretty sure it was the extended version of schism aswell.

Adam didnt seem to into it to me. I was standing right infront of him and he looked like he was just staring off into space. Which version of Pushit did Orlando get, more along the lines of Aenima or Salival? If it was the aenima version I'd prefer Right in Two, but nothing beats the Salival version.

Yeh it was. I typed it up on my blackberry right after the show. - knew something was missing. Great show everyone seemed into it especially Adam for once. I thought we might get Aenima tonight, but - think its on the backburner with the ext songs.

Suprised they play ext stinkfist cause they didn't play it at all in Florida. Cracks me up when people yell " I keep digging."

Overall great show butter than Tampa but 2nd behind the Orlando show because we got pushit.

See you in another year (hopefully) if not then 5-6 more.

fuckin' awesome show, just got home myself. right in two was great, wings was amazing, the whole show rocked.

when they got to the "but i, i would" part in jambi and the bass kicked it, i felt a full body rush, it was awesome. I felt like I was on another planet when between songs, the lighting was shifting and it exposed one of those sacred geometric designs underneath the lights. also with the rotating projections of the 10,000 days heads on the back banner, fucking out of this world.

Great Show, but a few things pissed me off.

As a preface, Tool was nearly flawless, and Maynard really seemed into it in the beginning. He was dancing around much more than the Birmingham show. As said before, Adam moved around a bunch too. He was still pretty reserved as always, but I caught a few head bobs which rarely happens. Oh, and Melt Banana was the loudest thing I've ever heard. It was really funny to hear the explosion of music and then hear the singer say "thank you" so quietly after the song. Also, the bass weighed more than the bass player, but she still rocked it. I don't want to sound like an old man, but they were at a 10, and I would have been happy at a 7.

On to the problems:

1) Moshers - Is this seriously your last brain cell working? "Oh I like this song, I'm not going to pay attention at all, and I'm going to beat someone up." Nice. Seriously, keep your Pantera shirts and stay at home. You're all retards. Moshing to Wings? Really? Do the world a favor, I doubt anyone would miss you.

2) Picture takers - I get it. The stage looks really cool and seeing Tool jamming is great. But before Wings, Maynard asked politely to not take flash pictures. Of course a thousand idiots take their cameras out and immediately take pitures. Do you not have ears? Or are you just a bunch of assholes?

3) People throwing shit (at all, but specifically at the stage) - What good could possibly happen? You're probably going to end up hitting somebody. Worst case scenario, you hit a band member and they stop playing. Great job.

4) Laser pointer guy - thankfully, an usher came and talked to you, but holy shit. How do you have friends, because you're clearly an awful human being.

As for the show, the drum solo in Lateralus was amazing, again. There was a cool little jam part where Justin's bass effect was in some rhythm and Danny started playing with that, but stopped pretty quickly.

Intension was only played for about a minute before Right in Two (which kicked ass).

Maynard kinda screwed up the lyrics on the very end of both Wings 1&2, but it still sounded fine. His dancing was flat out amazing tonight.

The worst part of any tool concert: There's so much to look at that I'm always missing something. Maynard's awesome dancing, Danny beating the shit out of his drums, Adam's technique, Justin's amazing playing (and headbanging), plus all the visuals and lasers.

The laser show was WAAAAAAAAAY cooler than Birmingham. During parts of Vicarious, the lasers completely engulfed the band like a forcefield. It was really cool.


Great show, and the crowd was pretty cool except for the aforementioned assholes. Hopefully Atlanta will be a little changeup.

This was the first time I've been to see Tool, and it friggin BLEW ME AWAY. Maynard speaks!! "Get ready to have a wet vagina! Government approved." Hahaha.

I was pretty disappointed that they didn't play "Pushit." I don't know what made them do it in Orlando, but I wish they would have done it here too. Oh well...At least I got to hear "Lateralus." That was probably the best part of the entire show for me.

Maynard sang really well (I've watched some videos on YouTube where he pretty much just sucks it up really badly). He also did a bit of his Ćnima era-style dancing. The whole audience seemed to be really into the show. Danny's drum solo in "Lateralus" (and "Stinkfist") was amazing!!!!

They also used all of their lighting stuff this time - the screens (There were 2 extra screens, actually), the smoke, the three huge circular light thingies (awesome), and the lazers. I remember one part of the show where the lazers made an "X" on the American flag. I saw about 3 people around me taking videos of that with their cell phones.

This whole show was just amazing. I don't care what anyone else on here says. It might be pretty disappointing that we didn't get "Pushit" or "Third Eye" (my two favorites), but suck it up, people. That doesn't keep it from being an excellent show.

The band seemed more on than Orlando, crowd was definitely more appreciative. Wet vagina quote and all, it's hard to top a show with Pushit. I don't know, it's a toss up

This was my first Tool concert and I have to say it is by far one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I wish that Maynard would have come forward a little, but overall the band was really into it. The lights and graphics were amazing. The opener was pretty weird and I couldn't get into them at all. I couldn't make out what they were saying. It sounded like, "We are chipmunks, we eat cornchips." Then after about 15 minutes of that, "Next-a Tool."

Overall, it was a great show and I will definitely go to see them again any chance I get (Tool, that is, heh).

overall, it was amazing. It was my first tool show, and even though i had nosebleed seats off to the side, it was great. the overhead projectors that projected stuff on the white stage were awesome. i wonder if the people on the floor can see that stuff at all (other than just basic "ooh, its colorful") they played my favorites (lateralus, right in 2) an seeing the entire wings was just awesome. maynard makes me want to try the mohawk for real. only complaint was that i would have liked to heard some more from undertow (prison sex, disgustipated) but i know they don't do that stuff much anymore.
anyways, great show.

First off, this is my first ever Tool show and it was the best show I've ever been to. One thing I do regret is coming here to read set lists of previous shows. It took some of the excitement away from the show, but once songs started I soon fell into place of the music.

Now from the top: Melt Banana was horrible. I've been reading reviews for the past few days about how they were cool and I did not see the appeal. They started with a loud sharp wall of sound that cranked for 2-3 min, which was absolutely annoying. Every single one of their songs transcended into stupid punk drumming with the female vocalist delivering sharp shrills on the beat. The guitarist did do some cool distortion work from time-to-time but would abruptly jump into the same punk beat we'd heard before. Lame.

Maynard was totally awesome. I had seen him play with APC before, but he stood on a platform in the middle of the stage and I could not really see him. I was able to get a cool view of him and he definitely did a lot of his dancing. It was awesome! You have to laugh at how ridiculous it is, but it still blows you away. As for the others Adam was wearing his braided hair Wednesday Adam's style, Justin was rockin' the Castaway look and Danny was reppin' Tim Duncan. Each one had their own stage presence, but I felt constantly drawn to Maynard's "mystical" dancing.

The biggest song for me was Wings/10,000 days. This was my favorite song on the new album and is fighting with Lateralus as being my favorite Tool song of all time. I closed my eyes and absorbed this piece and it was phenomenal. Not one second during the song did I not feel chills crawling up my body. God yes.

I do not want carry on about the other songs, but they were all incredible. I was hoping for Pushit, but Right in Two was great in it's own right and fit perfectly in place for Pushit. Other than that the laser lights were cool, but I did not get that big a thrill out of them. I'd rather focus my attention on the performers rather than the ambience of the stage.

One final note, I stood about 20ft. from the gate center stage and I had a great time. The people I was around were pretty cool and did not push around or anything. A random asshole came flying through every now and then, but for the most part I had a fair amount of room to be left to my own devices of enjoyment. Excellent Show

anyone catch what maynards shirt said at the beginning? someone behind me said "the gap" but i don't think that was it but what an awesome show, this was my first concert ever and i was amazed. i was in the far left front row, amazing.

melt banana...the guitarist was pretty bad ass but other than that it was just a noisefest.

The only complaints that I really have about the entire experience is first of all, Melt Banana. Are you serious? I think my ears bled while suffering through half an hour of that. I don't see why so many people thought they rocked.

Then there was this screaming Banshee of a woman behind me and SCREAMED throughout the majority of the concert, even during songs. To me, that was just rude to everyone who was just trying to enjoy the experience.

Other than that, I have no complaints. I would have loved to hear more of their older stuff but the concert was still an amazing unforgettable experience.

This was my third Tool show, and the second best I’ve been to. Unfortunately, we all had to endure Melt Banana for an agonizing twenty to thirty minutes before Tool took the stage. Seriously… Melt Banana? Tomahawk, Melvins, Meshuggah, Mastodon… Melt Banana? I don’t get it.

There were seven of us and we were on the barricade right smack in front of Justin. I had an awesome view of the entire band and each screen – didn’t bother me that I couldn’t see the entire stage lit up as the nosebleed sections could toward the end of the show. I had thrown my voice out telling Melt Banana to go home and begging them to stop playing, so I was unable to sing along. That was a bit of a disappointment.

On a positive note, this was the closest I had ever been to the stage and clearly the closest I am ever going to get. We had waited outside in tropical storm Barry for four and a half hours to get our spots on the barricade. Tool was near flawless. They chocked their set full of filler, but we had a great time. Like I said before though, I couldn’t sing along (and could barely hear Maynard as I was smack in front of the amps in front of Justin), but I had a good time.

Oh, and a big “fuck you” to Tool fans in general, especially THAT guy at the front of the floor tickets line. Seriously man, shut the fuck up. This guy stood there the entire time trying to convince everyone around him (including his trashy girl) that he knew more about Tool than anyone else. I overheard several people muttering to themselves about how they were going to stomp this asshole once the show began. He made a complete asshole of himself and didn’t even realize it.

I don’t think I have ever seen so many “those guys” at a show before! EVERYONE had a Tool shirt on and was jabbering on about Maynard and trying to out impress one another. I had to endure some dumb bitch rushing the barricade screaming to Maynard “I love you!” Don’t get me wrong, I’m a pretty big Tool fan, but I’m not a dumb shit who runs around claiming to be “OGT since ‘92” like that pecker-head up front did. Seriously, don’t be one of “those guys” – you’re embarrassing yourself. Leave your Tool Army shirt and personal agenda at home.

Another thing – it’s not 1992-’94 anymore. A majority of Tool fans (and rock fans, at that) are under the impression that if a song has heavy distortion, then they’re required to punch other people in the face. I’m not saying we should all stand and sway and give one another ten feet of personal space. But seriously, act like a decent human being and be considerate. You didn’t stand out in the rain for four and a half hours (keeping your mouth shut and not jabbering on about how cool you are), so you’re sure as shit not going to budge me off the barricade. You’ll get pushed back and take a few elbows in the process. If violence is the single most positive way you can express yourself and your emotions, then do us a favor and put a fucking bullet in your head.

16 of us travelled up from St. Augustine to see this show. We went up on a limo style van. Definately the way to go. No extra--ciricular hassles if you know what I mean. The show was amazing! Nard was dead spot on all night. He really seemed into it the whole show. Bit more talkative. Danny is extra-terrestial. Adam was ripping it up. Justin was thumping the hell out of the bass. Auditorily , Visually mind bending experience......till next time

Sixth tool show since lateralus, first on acid,,, pricesless, go on give it a try-- you'll enjoy! cheers to reality.

Absolutely fucking incredible show. Just got home in NC, 6 and a half hour drive. Was in section 114, and it seemed like there was about five of us really into the show. However, no one around me was disrespectful towards anyone near them or the band.

Melt Banana is horrible, horrible, horrible. I think that they literally just made as much racket as they could for a solid 40 minutes or something. Unfortunately, I think I saw that they are also going to be in Greenville and Winston-Salem, which I will be attending both.
Tool Took the stage at like 9:10. Played till 11:00 on the dot or close to it. Saw them in DC back in September, and this time around was in my opinion tons better. Not that the DC show was bad, it was amazing. But it seemed that all the wrinkles from DC had been ironed out and this show was flawless, not to mention the visuals, stage set up, and LASERS were unbelievable this time around. The lasers did so much more in Jax than in Washington, DC.
Overall, I was very pleased with the venue. Loved Jacksonville, it was very simple to navigate to and from my hotel, which was a Ramada Limited off Lane Ave (off of I-10). Not much to offer in the way of bars close to the arena, but I would definitely visit again.
As far as Tool is concerned, thanks for another stellar performance. See you in Greenville Tuesday.

Ok so maybe when I originally posted last night, my wishing of a very tragic disease on some FEMALE that was bad mouthing the show was a little much. I do apologize. However, let me explain once again that I parked close to the Jags arena, and on my way back to the car this girl approached me and said "Wasn't that the worst Tool show you have ever seen?", I replied with "Were you watching the same show that I was because that was badass?!", Her reply was "Well, obviously you haven't seen many of their shows." When did Tool start drawing a bunch of "one-uppers"? I rent, she buys (a loft actually)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my 5th Tool show and 1st in support of 10,000 Days. This was my wife's first Tool show and thankfully she is now a fan. That's saying a lot because she really doesn't like heavy music at all. Now I can blast it all I want!

The Set:
Not much more that I can say that wasn't already said. This was an amazing setlist... Everysong I wanted them to play. I don't mind not hearing anything from Opiate or Undertow. The guys have come such a long way. Opening up with Jambi was a great choice.

The Ugly:
I didn't see the laser pointer guy, but that may explain why Maynard put his back to the crowd at times. During Wings pt 1 & 2 these two girls standing next to us would not stop talking. It was loud enough that I could understand their conversation was about who was the bigger lesbian. I mean talk all you want, but not during those songs *sigh*. Other than that my only complaint is that the show goes by sooo fast.

The Good:
The sound was amazing. The bass and drums rocked my chest. The lasers, lights, and screens were the best I have ever seen. Like "and no eggs" said there is so much to take in at the show you wish you had more eyes to look at everything. Even so, sometimes I would just close my eyes and listen.

All in all the show was a 9 out of 10 for me. The crowd was the best that I had seen despite a few bad apples. Moshing was to a minimum, so much that my lady was able to get very close to the stage where Justin was playing.

Don't miss this tour if you have the chance to see them!

Observations:
1. Unfortunately, I think Maynard's voice is going. This tour have noticed that there is lessing singing and more musical interludes. A decade prior they would play continually for 2+ hours with Maynard not taking as many "water" breaks. He did sound good, though, when signing.
2. Having missed the last tour, since when did Tool begin attracting "Eminem" crotch-grabbing wannabes? People, it ain't fricken rap music or reggaton. Go beat down Limp Bizkit's door if your gonna act like wiggers.
3. I stood by too many sing-alongers.... unfortunately. People don't grasp the fact that Tool is loud, soul-beating music. It ain't for the Celine Dion sings-alongs. If it was, then you'd see Maynard talking to all us all night like a Chatie-Kathy doll. I love the fact they come to rock, no bullshit.

Overall, great show. Lights, sound. What else needs to be said. For those lifer's like I, rate it higher that Ćnima, on par with Undertow tour (missed the Lateralus show). Opiate still is untouchable.

If you have a chance to see it, don't miss it.

I agree the show was AWESOME. Although, I would've loved for them to have done "Aenema", "Pushit", or "The Patient", the songs they did perform were some of my favorites of theirs, not to mention flawlessly executed. Also, the laser show towards the end was fantastic. I had to leave before the conclusion of "Vicarious" in order to beat the crowd, but it was a night which I shall always remember.




KUDOS TOOL!!!

This show was fucking amazing! Maynard's mo-hawk and cowboy hat and his sexy dancing were enough for my "vagina to be wet." The music, lights and crowd, along with the many glasses of vodka, definitely rocked my night. The most sexiest and soul rocking concert ever! Can't describe it any further with words, it was just FUCKING AMAZING!

This was my first TooL show I have ever been too. Everything about it was great. The best show I have ever been too. Everything that took place including the opening act of Melt Bananas, to the smoking outside on the balcony, to all the different people with the different looks and different styles of everything. The best part though I would have to say......after the music stopped and the lights from stage to the people and on the way out everyone is still cheering, ......in the halls, out doors, sure there were your people of the immature race out and about screaming at you like the world sits in the palm of their hands, But the important thing that I have learned over the years, with this band....it reaches out to all mixes of people. Touching even the darkest of souls. And in the fact that while walking away from this show with everyone still shouting and smiling....in that moment....that is what it is all about. I mean JeBus we had the security guards smiling at us........great show, great people, great music, great life.
