I agree with you on this...but this whole album kicks ass. This is the album which started it all for me. Prison Sex is probably my favorite (on this album), but Flood, 4 degrees, Crawl Away, and Bottom follow closely behind. It's hard to say, I like the whole thing. Many songs on this CD helped me through difficult times. The whole world could be falling apart...but I'd still have Tool.

Yeah.... prison sx (and four degrees) are the tracks that really got me to take notice and dig beneath the surface of the occassional rockin out to sober or stinkfist....and thank fuck for that! 46&2 is still top o the tool pops for me but.
Re: How come this isnt the seminal track of the album?
...^ WTF?
Oh well, continuing this topic:
What about Bottom? Now, I'm not a fan of the entire song, but the opening sequence is probably one of the best Tool openings ever. The first 1:45 of the song is completely awesome! If the entire song had this same kind of rhythm and vocal style, it would probably be my favorite.
Prison Sex should have been live on Salival. That song is just too awesome.
Intolerance is also a very unappreciated track. It reminds me of Sweat (another one of my favorites) from Opiate.
Has anybody mentioned Flood or Swamp Song yet? OMG! ", 'Cause your a stupid, belligerent fucker..." Amazing stuff.
Disgustipated by far, is probably the best song tool ever made...(if you catch my drift). It gave me a good laugh the first listen through, and is completely ridiculous, but I love it.
...
Ahh, and for Sober. Sober is a good song, but it IS overrated. Sober would have been better as an opener for the CD (1st track.) Think about it. However, where Intolerance would go, I have no idea.
Sure, I mentioned half of the undertow CD, but the opening to Bottom, and the entire tracks of Prison Sex, Swamp Song, and Flood are probably, to me, the most memorable.
Re: How come this isnt the seminal track of the album?
yummy. Prison Sex is just sooo good. I actually remember what caught my ear the first time i heard it. It was Danny's use of the hi-hat. I'd never heard such a crisp, delicate use of the hi-hat til that moment...

hooker with a penis is definately an awesome track to drive crazy too. I love it the most when the ghetto thugs are staring at me from the sidewalk and they are like "what the hell is that crazy white boy listening to?" TOOL pussys! haha good stuff.
Re: How come this isnt the seminal track of the album?
thank you for the info. i know what your talking about now i just didnt know the name for the peice of the drum set. thanks man. Danny rules. Can you give me a song and a time when it sounds sweet and crisp? i would appreciate it.
Re: How come this isnt the seminal track of the album?
sure, no prob.
right now, i dont have access to my songs (im @ work... :( ) so this is what i can tell you:
as soon as the song enters full gear (after the initial drum breakdown and stuff), the hi-hat starts sounding beautifully. And all throughout the song as well... right there, at the beginning, is where Tool got me. I was like, "Holy shit, this is heavy, but beautiful!"
