Also I forgot to say in review and not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but they played an extended version of intolerance. It's definately different than album version. They stop in the middle of the song, jam for 2 minutes then finish song.

They did this at the end of third eye too. Im like u man... i still cant fuckin believe what i saw last night. I never thought i would get to witness something like that. Wow.
Why is the review forum still locked? The NOLA thread has almost 14k views and its still empty. People are going to be discouraged from sharing their reviews (which I WANT to read) if they have to keep coming back to check. Get on the ball dudes.
I tried doing that once. Surprise is nice I guess but I am not only loving reading reviews as they happen here, but looking forward to the build up here in conversation prior to the dates I'll attend. But then I am a forum hound so staying away isn't really an option nowadays.
During the 2006 Baton Rouge show, I felt like the band didn't want to be there. It was a rescheduled show from when Maynard was sick, and I don't think he moved a muscle. Musically, it's always excellent, it was hard to just not feel cheated in some way. In New Orleans, it was a good show. Same exact setlist, minus pushit for flood, and although a more genuine show in terms of performance. It still just felt flat at times. I'd been spoiled by only seeing youtube videos of early shows from lateralus, aenima, and undertow and I just felt.. jealous maybe of people who's already had the oppurtunity to witness tool in all of their glory. Last night was redemption for Tool in terms of how I feel about them. They brought it on levels I thought could't be brought anymore by them. As always musically, they're top notch but the show, vibe, and power was unmatched by any band I've ever seen. It was rewarding to not give up on them, or bad mouth them and have them come through in the most epic of ways.
Edit: Also props to Junior! As someone mentioned earlier, clearly the best lights from the show. Thank you for doing what you doing and allowing us to enjoy it.
I think i am goign to take some advice given around here and see what other shows i can make it out for. hey Kanaduh, i dont think you would object to seeing the third show in LA too now, huh? lol
I'll have a longer review when they open it up, and already posted another one in the NO thread in this forum.
Suffice it to say, best show ever for me. Just fucking unreal.
I don't know if this is always the case, but the blonde Les Paul was in the house and was being tuned up before the show. I'd never seen it before, so I kept waiting for Parabola. It might pop up this tour (unless they always keep that one around).

Intolerance was fuckin epic!! Idk about tonight, I'm not sold on Third Eye being a constant yet. I could see them dropping that and throwing Rosetta back in, or maybe flood; but keeping it the same after that.

Same setlist, or a very minor change.
That's just their style. They are really not a band that caters to people who travel to multiple cities. Of course, occasionally they make a small change or two.
If we see a change, it'll probably be one song, and probably not until the second half of the mini tour. Or, when they play more than one show at the same venue.
This is my educated guess, based on their history and style...
Made it to Houston a little while ago... Ate, now I am gonna relax before heading to the Toyota Center. I will be ecstatic if we get what we got last night. Hoping they throw 1-2 more songs in and make it a full 2hrs like they normally do.
besides the adam jones special editions are there any new TOOL shirts at these shows?
what are shirts going for? like 40 bucks like last tour? im going to the OKC show wednesday.............

Just some standard ones. I snagged the one with the TOOL logo on the front w/ California Bear. On the back it reads California Republic with the prowling, illuminated eye bear. It also has the 7 pointed Star, and the dates. I can take a picture if you would like.
If you are planning on Merch, get there early. Calling a clusterfuck is an understatement.

Nope. Gonna go to will call and try to get another. I have the CC and passport so I'll just claim I never got it in the mail. Worst case scenario I'll buy another ticket. It's a massive venue so they should still be available. Would suck but it's my fault for losing it and there's no way i'm missing the show after going this far.
I don't even know if they're a tdner.. But a houstoner emailed me and is giving me a ride to the venue.
I love this site, and the people on it. Texas still sucks, though.
