Yeah, up front will almost always, always sound like complete shit. That spot is for star-gazing only really. Centering up just in front of the soundboard is always the optimal spot if you can do it.
So I am sure this is not the right thread to put this up and if so can somebody point me to the right one for this.....
I am sure there are not to many incubus fans in this forum but I am sure there is a shit load of Tom Morello fans in here. I purchase incubus red rocks with Tom Morello's Nightwatchmen tickets for my wife cuz incubus is her favorite band. We went to red rocks last year and saw tool and she loved the place so that's why I got her the incubus tickets. Unfortunately we can't make it up there. So I have two tickets row 44. I am selling them for what I bought for them. Please PM me if you are interested.
I know this is not the best place to post this but I am a tool fan not really an incubus fan so I don't go to incubus forums.
Try PMing 2OOL, I know he has a Brandon Boyd tattoo.

Another TDN member was gracious enough to host the zip for me for a while, but that link is down now. I still have the files (as do a lot of other people I'm sure), but I don't think they're hosted anywhere and I don't know where to put them.
If anyone doesn't have it, we will brainstorm and I'll send it out to you. It's old but still relevant I think.

Man it's such a shame that APC chooses to ruin this tour with the buzzkill EMotive songs. We got a great set in Berkeley, but the covers (that all sound the same) killed any momentum.
Right when things were hitting a solid groove - The Outsider then Rose, the show just grinds to a halt with Peace Love and Understanding and I agree with the poster that mentioned the mix if 3 Libras is the worst of any they could have picked.
I don't get it. The crowd goes silent - surely the guys can feel/hear/sense this.
That version of When The Levee Breaks is downright offensive.

JUSTIN TO BE THE GUEST ON COS MONDAY NIGHT (AUGUST 1ST)
JUSTIN CHANCELLOR will be Rynne's special guest on her internet radio show "Children of Saturn" on MONDAY NIGHT (AUGUST 1ST) at 6:00 PM. Sounds like a good opportunity to see how the writing/arranging for the new record is progressing. www.wkradio.tumblr.com
i saw a show on this current tour, as well as in 2004, and 2003 i believe.
the ONLY songs from emotive that should be played are as follows: annihilation to open, imagine, passive, and/or counting bodies/fiddle and the drum.
they played 19 songs. but it feels so empty. think about it LIKE THIS...
if they would have played 6 from 13th step, and 6 from mer de noms, we're at 12 songs. 4 or 5 from emotive listed above, makes it 16/17. and then add in the new song, boom.
i think 6 and 6 from the earlier cds would have REALLY balanced it all out.
annihilation was a FANTASTIC openeer, imo. and imagine set a nice tone right after.

agree with all but the last two points, I guess my original feeling was there was no continuity to the show, and the "upbeat - downbeat" rotation came off pretty schizophrenic. It was almost "uncomfortable" especially in the heart of the set.
I too have seen the band many times, and the sound (Billy was too low) and lights were amongst the best they have ever had.
MJK sounded good and was in good spirits. (Hiding in the dark...)

Hi. I noticed people asking about the pre-show Tuvan throat singing during the Lateralus tour. I believe the artist in question is called Huun Huur Tu.

thanks.
any links?
(edit: just googled/youtube'd some of their stuff. this is fucking neat!)

Having had the chance to think about the show here in LA a bit, I'd have to say this was the best of the four times I've seen them. I do agree there were some issues with the flow of the setlist. But the band really clicked and Billy turned in a blistering performance. And the setlist, it had a lot of suprisingly good, sproradic moments, that made it work. Even the stuff from eMotive was done well.
On a side note- I felt like Gravity was the one song that would really have made things flow better if they had been able to work it in.
Well, its nearing the end of Summer, which is about the time Danny thought Tool might be hitting the studio. Because of a lack of updates, its probably safe to assume that the band are likely not ready to record yet. Even so, I imagine that they must have made significant progress over the past few months. My best guess is that they'll be ready to enter the studio sometime after the Puscifer tour/ grape harvest season later this fall or early winter.
Or maybe one full length, and the second disc be this album's epic a la D/R/T / Wings I & II.
Time to start $aving.

A double album would be very nice, but I can't see the band doing one - it takes Tool long enough to record 80-90 minutes; they'd probably need 3 more years to create a double disc. I would love to be surprised on this one...
Though, I have often wondered how things might change if the band assumes that this record might be their last. In this case, the band may want to produce as much material as possible.
Regarding possible long/epic tracks - I hope you're right. While Danny did say they are trying to keep tracks shorter and to the point, he also mentioned that the new songs have been hard to contain as ideas keep rolling in. Regardless, Tool seems unwilling to compromise their art for producing a shorter song, so if they do keep a track or three on the shorter side, I'm sure it will be done for some worthy purpose.
we have no idea with at which point they are at in development. i mean maynard snuck doing a movie in there, which means to me that maynard time and "real" time are deffinately not the same thing, so who knows what songs have lyrics and which dont in my opinion

What tracks from the live set are going to get put out to pasture?
They have to start rotating 46 & 2, Schism, Stinkfist, Flood and Aenima right? I'd love to see Lateralus and Jambi go into rotation too, but I don't see that happening. Even if they rotated the limited variety the do play, I think it would really increase the experience for us diehards.

Hi All!
New to the forums - whole site, actually. Embarassed to say, haven't yet seen Tool live. Something I kick myself in the a** for to this day & a luxury that shouldn't have been taken for granted (Thanks, hindsight!)
Tool lover from first song heard (sometime mid 90's, I guess) - constantly hoping they'll tour with a stop in NJ. Even the East Coast... who am I kidding... if it's in the U.S. - I'm there!!!
So far, only a daydream where the kick-a** event/memory should be. Existing briefly in time within the same venue... all my senses absorbing the unF'nbelievable ear, rhythm & soul candy.
Personally, I feel I cannot die before seeing Danny Carey strike, connect, strike, connect, strike, connect... shaking the entire place, each connect thumping right through my chest!!!
Any solid info available on will they, won't they, when they...? Jones'n...

Appreciate your eyes on my text... C~
cheers.
you'll meet some amazing people on this website - i encourage you to become active and post more often. most of us do not bite.
if there is one thing i have learned over the years about this band - it's to stop predicting and overanalyzing their future, enjoy all of the music/bootlegs/videos we are fortunate enough to have, and most importantly to expect the unexpected.

How can you say "expect the unexpected" when you saw 14 shows in a row with the same setlist?
